Thanks both - I've not taken particularly good pics here but I'm really pleased with the latest group too.

Love that. I've been wanting to get my own mech fix lately and have been leaning towards battletech for nostalgia purposes.
Those little suits are great. Kind of like the Elementals.

I'd really recommend checking out Mecha Front (that's who made the mech). They're like grown-up Battletech walkers, I love them.

Just found this thread, some great minis and painting, especially the blue on the slammers vehicles.

Thanks matey - that really is a nice blue, almost wish I hadn’t used it so I could use it all over again!

Me too - I always like a 6mm game that has stands of infantry but looks like a 2000 point 40k game (so three squads or so, a couple of vehicles and something interesting - that sort of scale). Have you checked out Squad Hammer? - I won’t link as I’m on my phone but search for it on wargames vault. It’s a brilliant game; less crunchy, very moddable and works well for a similar ‘size’ of conflict. It’s mostly replaced Horizon Wars for me now.

Evening folks,

Not painted much over the past fortnight, mostly I've been tinkering with Tinkercad.

Just pressed 'order' on the first design I was really happy with: a funny, lumpy, a-symmetrical hover APC:

If I'm happy with them I'll order some more of the Hardware studios power armour I've painted above, because I think they'll match nicely.

Right - best pick up paintbrush this weekend....

Very cool. I just bought horizon wars but haven't read all the book yet.

Cheers! I’m having loads of fun with it.

Horizon Wars is great (you’ll need the FAQ - there was a layout mistake with the book and the cover rules were missed) but I’ve moved over mostly to Squad Hammer now, it really suits the type of games and forces I’m into. Both are a lovely ‘scale’ for 6mm battles - 5 or so squads, a tank or two and a support vehicle, easy peasy!

Looks good Jag,
I always wanted to try my hand at 3d , might give Tinkercad a try.

As to Squad Hammer, thanks to you I've just found out that they have a core rules set for only $4, very very tempting......🤔

My Gw epic hordes need to see some light after years in boxes. 😉

Thanks for posting.

'Ullo all,

I've got a wee update for my 6mm thread!

I've been having lots of fun designing and printing things recently for the shop, but I've also been tinkering with 6mm bits and realised that simple 6mm infantry are well within my ability.

First batch are some baldy fellas - I've got an army on the go at the moment with these, some small mechs and some cobra H.I.S.S tanks, so these guys are intended to have an 80s action toy vibe.

I've been looking at older 6mm ranges like GZGs for posing and idea (because I'm not up to the standard of modern 3D designed ranges like vanguards). A simple way (as above) to vary the pose is to make it clear the head is facing in different directions, which I think worked pretty well when based as a group.

More importantly, for this post, are the next chaps - little 6mmm vac-suits!

When GZG released all their Moongrunt stuff I was really inspired - it's a great opportunity to do some nice, bold colours *and* it's a pretty pure 'wargaming' project (i.e. I wouldn't get bogged down in RPG civilians like I do in all my other projects!), but it always seemed better suited to 6mm to me.

So here we have the start of 6mm Moon Wars - a wee test base. The actual basing is wrong - I need a new recipe because my 'glazing' basing style (like I do for desert) doesn't work.

I like all the colour schemes here - I think all white is pretty classic and the green looks good, but I think the first force will have the red and white. If I can find an easier yellow recipe I'll try all yellow too. I do like the look of the multi-scheme on one base though - may be an idea for a mercenary force in the future.

Next I need to design some vehicles - in my version of this setting heavy weapons are only vehicle mounted (hence the squad only having a squad level weapon) then buildings and scenario pieces.

Hello  my  friend,
You 3D'd  these &  printed them yourself ?
You should make combat versions of your little robot also.
I'm impressed.
Lovely work.
Keep it up
