Thank you both. Really happy with how this is coming along, and there are just more and more great models being released.

Just a couple more Perry/Fireforge mashups. I envision this unit of House Mormont not-quite light cavalry, who patrol Bear Island and brutally beat up any Wildling raiders they encounter. Might add fur to these later. What do you guys think? Fur or no fur?

How about a compromise, fur round the neck and shoulders and a normal clock thereafter?

The cavalry look great so far!

As to the fur/no-fur question, the two chaps on the left with the Perry torsos look pretty bundled up already, so could do some fur on the other guy and cloth on the more padded ones?

Fur...lots of fur....they could be wearing a bear - Happychappy has got Ramsey Bolton wearing someone’s face after all

 ;) lol

Personally, for some of the Northern Houses, Starks included, I think fur is more of a luxury for the officers/nobles, but given the Mormont’s sigil, location, and that mounted troops tend to be regarded of higher station than the poor plebs given a spear and a shield, I’d give them some fur.

Got a whole unit built now, just need to do the last greenstuff work. Will probably end up putting some fur on them.

So here's where we ended up on the Mormont outriders. They will be joined by two character models to make a full unit of ten. I did a couple of headswaps on some Perry bodies, and then the biggest conversion is the female rider on the left. She has a torso cut from a Shieldwolf body attached to the legs of a Perry knight. The arms are from the Light Cavalry set, but the axe is from the Shieldwolf Shieldmaiden kit. The head is a Statuesque bald head that I greenstuffed some hair on. Had to bend her cloak to fit over the back of the horse.

What do you think?

They look great!

Speaking of quasi-medieval cavalry, most plastic horses look good but a bit too generic. It's too bad there are so few really meaty chargers with shaggy pastern because they look really good for Northern knights. I have a few eBob destriers which I am saving for my Glovers and Forresters.

The Swedish 'Nordsvensk' or the Norwegian 'Dölhäst' embodies much of of what I am thinking of, even if they are bed for dragging timber rather than war (well, the Swedish alpine jägers , 4th dragoons, used them well into the 50s, but probably not for charges).

Thank you! Agree on the horses Hammers. I did add some extra fluff around the hooves of my early northern cavalry, but it was a pain in the butt so I haven't done it to these. Incidentally, that is pretty much the exact colour I was going to try for this unit.

Took some photos for another place, and it occured to me that there are a few things that I haven't shown here.

The dismounted Brienne here is previously unposted; she's a Hasslefree mini:

There's at least one new Claymore french man at arms in here:

And this is what the White Harbor knights look like at their full strength:

Must add some Claymore Castings to my paint table.

Yet again, i wish we could get all of these different GoT projects in one place at one time.

Nice work! Love how dynamic the Claymore MAA poses are!

And I only just noticed the *powerful* mustache on the guy behind Brienne!
