She's been on my painting desk for a long time, but finally finished! Brienne is of course one of the must have characters from the series. I've chosen to depict her with the shield of Ser Duncan the Tall, which she takes for herself when she goes of on her solo adventure later in the books. The model is Perry's Joan of Arc, a simple parallel and pretty nice miniature. Just added a shield to get that Westeros feel.

Also found the time today to finish my White Harbor knights. There's no way I'm free handing a Merman, so their arms are a trident held by a green hand, referencing the knightly order of the Green Hand which pre-dates the Targaryen conquest.

Again, parts are GW Dol Amroth knights, Perry mounted MAA and a metal character from their Joan of Arc set, and a Claymore castings knight from the John the Blind set. I've bashed together my last John the Blind knight and put him on a plastic horse to round the unit out to ten, but for now enjoy these. What do you think?

Really liking those White Harbour knights! The Perry heads fit in really well with the bodies!

Really nice minis!

I saw your Brienne, which is great! Maybe you have seen mine? If not:

And a tenth White Harbor knight complete. This guy is a real frankenstein's, with a body and head from Claymore John the Blind, the lance arm from a Dol Amroth knight holding a Perry lance and a 1st Corps shield, riding a Fireforge horse with a Perry head.

Also found the time to finish a few more soldiers this weekend. Really struggled with getting the camera to focus, this is as good as I got it. My lightbox is ok for individual figures, but there seems to be insufficient light for units, and I should maybe try to get a macro lens for the camera because it does not like macro photography.

Anyway, the usual mix of Perry, Fireforge, Oathmark and Claymore Castings models. Decided to go for a variety of shield types. I imagine these soldiers are not always soldiering, and so use whatever equipment they are given. What do you guys think about these?

I think the variety of kit/shields works really well. I always imagine the Starks as a bit more “practical” than some of the other Houses....none of your fancy parade armour in the North  :D

I really like that 2nd from right head in the last photo. May need that for my own Westerosi.

Great painting! Very convincing Stark men!

He's a single piece metal model from Claymore Castings, absolutely lovely sculpts. Hadn't thought about it, but his helment's pretty close to the TV-series Starks, isnt it?

It is! Although for me it has more an Arryn vibe for some reason.

First unit of the year! Two rebased, one freshly painted Dire Wolf. The two gray are Otherworld minis, Ghost is a Bad Squiddo Fenris. Based for Oathmark or 9th Age.
