The Thread of Middle-Earth by Hammers
« on: May 23, 2016, 01:11:04 PM »
Since my fancy for fantasy is not wide but deep I have chosen to post some of my latest work in a separate thread.

From my latest LPL10 thread and inspired by Tom, Burt and William, I give you some relatives of their's , also originating from the Ettenmoors:

Janice, The Mothertroll

[Zvezda plastic, converted]

Udo

[Gamezone, converted]

Lemmy

[Reaper, converted]

Ozzy

[Reaper, converted]

Axl

[Gamezone, converted]

Chalky Willy

Really like the mottled skin tone you've used on the first Trolls. Almost looks like an organic camo pattern. Great contrast to Chalky Willy! Haha

Thank you. Glad you like them. Violence and nudity, ya know...

These are for a The Hobbit project I am building with Can O'Beer and Fivers, the Little Hammers and the neighbour's kids (lets call them Titania and Oberon henceforth). They are all much into the critters in the book and they like dwarves, so I will be posting some more soon. There collection to this set was however "Ewwww.... Gross..." But they liked coming up with names and backstories to this brood. Udo has a chain pierced through his Achilles heel and Ozzy an iron collar, which set them off...

The pics are a bit much enlarges so I think I will reshoot against a brown background and scale them down to 600p. I find that brush strokes  and little errors become too evident if the picture are blown up much beyond real size. Chalky Willy seems to have developed  a bad eczema in the diaper region, for example.

That is a great collection of miniatures and I really like the 'gritty' paint jobs that you have given them. Looking forward to seeing more...many more

It's all great but I really love the piebald skin patterns of the trolls- they look amazing (especially the one with half a horse).

Believe me, is not intentional. :) One year off the hobby and I have to basically guess where the paint should go.

I have recently overcome my vanity and aquired these, and it improves things dramatically.

The rangers were painted before the acquisition, the trolls after.
