Hi guys

The last unit finished in my colonial marines commission project, these are GZG NAC power armour, I painted them in similar colours as the armour and walkers, all comments welcome.

Looking good - maybe a quick splash of colour (white or red like the other stuff) on the shoulders/arms with a tactical marking or something?

Hi guys

After a 4-5 year break from 15mm sci fi, (doing other genres) I am back, I completed a colonial marine based army a few years ago, but ended up selling it, so building another, but more closely resembling the movie type, in looks anyways, will be using a more complicated vehicle camo then the plane green in the movie. Didn't really do much planning with this, just grabbed a heap of figures out of the stash and started building, the infantry are all from Khurasans federal defence force exterminators, navy seals, and post apoc power armour, the 4 larger power armour suits are Khurasan corsair suits, the 6 robots are from Rebel minis.

Looking forward to see how this develops!

That mech looks great, couldn't see where it's from.

Hi guys

I have had a long time 15mm Mecha project simmering, buying Mechs cheap when they come up, after getting some inspiration from several 15mm 3D print mecha threads, I have decided to start mine, so I went trawling through my stash for my mechs, I have built one set of small mechs years ago (pics added) as well as these unmade mechs, and I have 3 more plastic kits on their way from HLJ and 8 Mechwarrior clix of ebay.

The Silver/Maroon mechs will be enlarged, I will try to get these from small to medium, the baggies at the bottom have some small Rebel minis and medium Khurasan mechs, probably leave them this size, the heavy gear stuff is more large battle suit size, but they will be in the project.

The 4 coloured mechs on the left were bought at a bargain shop for $2.50 for the set, they are rubbish as is, but I will heavily convert a couple, and use a couple as downed mechs.

The boxed plastic kits will be converted to look more mechwarrior than Gundum, I will replace hand held weapons with weapons integrated into the arms, maybe change the heads, we will see.

I made the Japanese mercs before really planning this project, so may carry this theme into 1 force (with Khurasans man size robots as ground support), do another force with a unified paint scheme (thinking of expanding my colonial marines into gthis force), and 2 alien forces, 1 Avian (Harook) might get some of Khurasans Hauk figures and do a unified Avian force, the other CMGs Kaamados dominion.

Hi guys

Started on my first Mech, going to try and make a medium mech out of these 2 small ones, they are both about 50mm tall, the final height is 73mm still need to do a lot of work on this, the gun arm will get a large mag on the back of the elbow counterweighting the barrels, not sure the gun is right for this sized mech, should I mount something smaller? I will add some armour and detail to the legs, the back of the mech will have a bit of detail added so its not so flat, going to add 1 or 2 missile pods to either the shoulders or chest, and round the nose of.

Should I persist with this design? any thoughts on improving it.

I like the conversion work. I think the gun looks fine for the torso (maybe a little too big), but it's the thin legs that makes me think the gun is too big.

Nice design though.

Hello Gunner,
Looks interesting.
Here are my thoughts.

Knee joint looks a bit strange, did you try reversing it? To see how it would look?

Gun is too long, i would shorten it or use a smaller one.

Cockpit looks nice but obviously needs more work to make it convincing.Perhaps build a larger hump to the back or loose the rear pane.

Keep it up, you  sure came back with a bang😉

Btw who makes those 2 mechs you cut up?

Hi Von - legs will be getting armour, so will bulk out a lot.
Hi Z - yeah, a lot of work to go, I will finish the body before deciding on the gun length, it may look ok after the rest is done, the knees will be getting armour, so may look better.

Hi guys

An update, some parts are bluetaced on, need to detail the gun mag, fill the waste out, mount the missile pod, I want to do some detail around the chest area, add knee armour, maybe groin armour, and thinking of some hanging plate armour around the waste, can anyone think of anything else I should change or add? all feedback appreciated.

Hi guys

The build stage is almost done, just need to attach the missile pod, any areas to improve before I start the painting process?

Those are some great GS shapes you did there gunner.

Knees are much better now. I like how the nose came out also. The large ammo hopper on the back would offset the barrel length but I still think that the barrel is long, perhaps it can be shortened at the joint ?

Overall great mini.
Good work 👍👍👍

Yeah, I’m sort of agreeing with you Z, I’m avoiding changing it so far, out of laziness, but it will bug me if I leave it.
