Thanks mate, used to convert everything the old fashioned way (that can be found on my blog) but 3D printing is so much faster and just as much fun in a different way

Great work Gunnar,
From a lead mountain to a resin one  :D
I dread the day I'll get a 3d Printer ;)

But as you say it does open a lot of avenues , especially for Scratchbuilding

Thanks for sharing

Mate, it’s a whole new hobby, I actually feel like there’s nothing I can’t create, it’s very exciting, and to be honest, it’s not that expensive, it only cost me about $300 Australian.

Gunnar,

Do you just print files you find around the internet, or do you design your own stuff? I think I'd enjoy printing things commercially available but would probably love doing my own design even more.

That is seriously awesome. I’ve stopped my 15mm 40k projects due to a new family member for some time now, but your stuff makes me want to plunge right into it again!
Where did you get those files?

Yes indeed Gunnar.
Especially to build greebles for terrain.
I will get one eventually also.
My main wish is to learn to sculpt in 3D.

I love those 15mm marines, might have to buy a printer now just for doing 40k in 15mm  :o lol

Was a big fan of your original 15mm 40k projects and glad to see you're at it with new tools and technology!

If I could get past the materials handling and disposal hazards of resin, I'd be all over this!

Hi guys

I have started the painting process on my 15mm Blood Angels, as its a huge army, (pictured is about half of what I need to paint) I wanted a quick but effective way to paint them, so I am using contrast paints for the red, over a black undercoat thats been drybrushed white, then highlighted red, this is only the first 3 base colours done, red, black and brown, only the red is highlighted, will go onto paint detail, finish the highlighting then weathering.

That is coming along nicely. What kind of printer are you using, and how long does it take to print these out?

I use a creality ld-002R, it depends on how much I can fit on the print bed, the marines themselves, I can fit anywhere from 10-18 on a print, and they take about 3 hrs, I can print 3 Rhinos in about 6 hours, but 1 landraider takes about 7 hrs, but I can fit a few marines on the print bed as well.

Wow, that is quick printing! Really great work. Very inspiring. I didn't realize that resin printers were so fast.

 Hi guys

I will now break down my 15mm BA's into small manageable batches, the first batch will be some Rhinos, I've used a mix of old and new Rhino designs, to represent a force that has replaced vehicles due to attrition, I printed all these vehicles except for the the No.1 vehicle with the red cargo doors and very visible print lines, that was bought of a provider on FB before I bought my printer.

I have added decals and done a pin wash, next I will highlight the black areas, paint some details, then start weathering.
