I watched The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color as a child and then saw the Night Creatures a few years later on Nightmare Theater. I was at a Record Riot in my twenties, where they sold records and old VHS tapes and found Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow. My good fortune!
I was unaware of the series of books by Russell Thorndike until now. However many of you may be unaware of the book Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow by Vic Crume which was the novelization of the movie. It was put out by Pyramids Books in 1975.
I'm following this all the way to completion. Some really great work here!

I'd never heard of Dr. Syn (books or films) until I read this thread, great idea for a game. I'm looking to buy the books now.

A lovely conversion for your mulatto figure, looking forward to seeing more of this, great work.

Mr Mipps, the Sexton alias "Hellspite". Dr Syn's right hand man, as portrayed by George Cole in the Disney adaptations.

An Outpost Miniatures Highwayman with Rapier Miniatures scarecrow head and some Greenstuff to finish him off

Two more mounted Marsh Men/Hell Riders (with dismounted versions) to go; "Catseyes" and "Beelzebub". ;D

Wonderful creation, Nick, and jolly nice painting.
The basic figures themselves are not my cup of tea at all - way too munchkin-like and lumpen - but after your tender attentions they have turned out rather well, and strangely suited to the setting.

Perhaps proving anyone / anything looks better in a sackcloth scarecrow mask... (Or an Andean balaclava ;))

Well, strike me dead and knock me up slipshod in a buckram coffin if this don't please me!  8)
