Sabre Squadron AAR and a bit of a review
« on: June 09, 2016, 09:13:59 AM »
Hi all

About two months ago I played Sabre Squadron game and here is the battle report, which I have added it to  my site. It was a while after the game that I wrote report so the details are a little hazy and as the game got more exciting I forgot to take pictures.

It was a not so classic encounter of Soviet Naval infantry defending vs South African Mechanised forces. A very good game and our first attempt at an Attack-defence game, which went very smoothly. All the figures are 6mm of course

The link is here http://6mm.wargaming.info/page403.shtml

and some photos of the game.

I have almost finished another battle report of a more recent game and I just need to edit the photos so that should be in the next week or two.

Cheers
Kieran

Lovely photos. Haven't heard fo the rules, but simple is good when playing a wargame imho.

That's some of the nicest 6mm scenery I've seen. The set ups for the battle reports on the Sabre Squadron website are a bit uninspiring. I Have the rule book and two 6mm armies ready to go, but I haven't tried the rules yet. This may give me the kick I need to get into 6mm now I've seen how nice a table you can create.

Erik, while not cheap, I've got my eye on Brigade Models' electricity pylons:

Tomcat yes I agree with the reports on the SS website. Most of their tables seem very open and we found that if you had LOS, you could kill it. We are more careful about our terrain placement now.

The scenery is leftover from my terrain boards and the buildings are a bit of a mixed bag but it comes together well. I've just finished basing 300+ trees along with 12 hills and I think the next report has a better looking table (very important IMO :))

Yes those brigade models pylons are nice and I would buy them if I was looking around today.
