Thanks, it was quite a lump out of the 'pocket money', so it would have been unbearable if I hadn't gotten it to work properly.  lol

I still haven't tried printing with thinner layers (using 0.2 atm), and my next print is more than 12 hours even at the current resolution, so I am going to wait a bit  before experimenting (on smaller objects).
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I have a creality cr-10S also and had similar initial issues - now it seems to be working fine with only 1 in 10 fails per print.  I’m sure these are due to user error more than anything else.

Very happy with the printer and just starting to learn 3d design.  At 56, I am trying to disprove the whole old dog / new tricks thing.

I tend to print most things at 0.2mm layers.  While 0.1mm provides better details, the increase in print time doesn’t seem to pay off.  I’ll reserve 0.1 for printing miniature figures.

I am pretty sure clogging was due to some fault in the filament - after working the nozzle with the 'wire needle', and using the 'change filament - feed' function until the filament started flowing, the printer has been working  nicely.

I have FAR less than 1 in 10 failed prints (my fail ratio right now is 1.41%).

I have a similar issue when printing pla - sometimes the gear that advances the filament wears it away and then can not get enough grip to push the filament forward.

I’ve found the easiest way to fix this is to lightly push the filament while the printer is printing.  That allows the gear to catch on a non worn piece and then it works fine.

This was clogged - I could not get the filament to come out of the nozzle, even when pushing manually. I had to use the needle-thingy several times, before the molten PLA suddenly bursted forth. I think a tiny impurity had to be divided or turned around for it to pass the nozzle.

They look fantastic.

Thanks!

I think I have found the Cura recipe for those. The very light one is made of transparent filament, btw, and has an electric tealight inside - I am just now finetuning the settings for getting it as clear as possible, and I think I am getting there - it will be a useful thing to know when printing cobwebs, portals, and other stuff where transparency is preferable.
