I do believe its time for my annual update of this topic I do believe.

The original design idea came from Eli Arnd, with some changes, cad and print by me of-course.
These guys will be know as the sky knights, the "knight" is the pilot while a "square" sits down in the ship as a loader and gunner for the anti tank cannon under the craft. The crafts themselves are nicknamed "geese" due to their shape.

The final design came out a bit large compared to regular 1/300 ww1 aircraft, so I think I will do a second version shrunk about 25-30% and with the cockpit sunk down a bit more, so the pilot is in not on the plane but actually in.

As for the model itself the tail cone is separate so I'm planning to ad a translucent plastic propeller disk to the final model, but first some more updating to the shape here and there.

Thanks man!

Chances are this guy and future models will actually see production some time in the future. Eli is very enthusiastic about working on more original designs like this with me so I'm looking forwards to that.

I envy you, I've only caught Princess Kaguya on the big screen myself!

They're doing a Ghibli retrospective this summer at the Kino in Rotterdam, they'll be showing 16 Ghibli films in total  :D
I probably wont see them all, but really want to try to see at least the earlier ones in the Cinema as I've never seen most of those on the big screen

Had a burst of inspiration and put on a lick of paint. Those bloody aces with their bold bright coloured craft!

If you look close there is a radial engine in there!

I usually dread painting read, but the quick wash and drybrush I did before worked as a decent pre-shading for this one, I should try to remember that trick for the future.
