Lovely project you have here - very reminiscent of Miyazaki as I think others have said.

The tankette reminded me very much of a BMD to begin with - but has progressed nicely since then.

Opinions on the tankette appear to be very mixed, so we might end up adopting both into the project in the end. I have also printed the multi-barrel heavy tank turret variant just to see how it looks, I'm quite happy with it overall though it might do with a couple more details yet.

yes yes, its an actual update on this project!

The first stages of our main battle tank, very asymetrical and quircky. I'm happy with where this is going.

I've known about these for a few months on Microworld but had no idea there was a thread on them being designed here  :o

Studio Ghibli films are being released over the next 3 months on Netflix so I had to watch a few today and it made me crack and I've bought 4 of the tanks.

Really looking forward to the rest of whats being shown of being available, gunna be a fun mini project.

As for the Tankettes I defo like both designs; the one with the side skirts would work well as an infantry support vehicle, and the one without a solid recce vehicle so I'd defo figure both into a force.

The MBT looks mad, really like it  :D although I wouldn't personally use it as an MBT, certainly show up as a siege tank or city fighting vehicle.

One has to spew his nonsense design musing somewhere eh?  :D

Keep an eye on the microwold website, the APC and tankettes should be on there soon. In fact, I just took delivery of a dozen master casts of them each, plus about 300 infantry figures, which gets me well along the way to a decent army for most rulesets. I took a step away from this line for a bit, and now have a lot of ideas for the MBT and other vehichles.

I hear you on the MBT design Brummie, while designing we tried to keep it a bit more like those ww1 tanks, where there definitely was an idea, just maybe not a great one. Looking back on them we can see why they would fail, but hindsight and all that. The MBT is asymetric, cause if you need those machine guns on one side, you can just turn that way right?  ;D

Thanks Jack,

I'm currently hitting my head against the wall over the medium tank. Trying to make it quirky enough but also look good...

Clearly they built them in Left and Right versions, and they operated in pairs so they could cover each other.
