Some more figures finished…

First up we have some slightly generic Space Cops (or Kosmos OMOH in Cyrillic – it seemed appropriate to name them after OMON, which used to be one of the more paramilitary arms of the Russian police).  There’s no background to these chaps yet, I’ll wheel them out when I need cops.  I envisage that the shotgun guys will have stun rounds (& are carrying shock batons), whilst the grenade launcher has non-lethal incapacitant gas of some sort.  Meanwhile, the las gunner & snipers are ready to bring the pain if required.  And there’s a mini-UAV for spotting (loaded with 4 flash-bangs).

Amelia probably belongs more in the VSF board than this one, but seeing as she was actually painted for my current Inq28 campaign, I’ve included her in this thread.  Again, no real background – she’s actually a celebrity stunt double for a new member of my gaming group to use until she’s painted some figures of her own (the guy who had lent her some figures has moved away, so I needed appropriately equipped substitutes).

It doesn’t really show in the photo, but I think this is one of the best figures I’ve painted – I managed to nail the face & eyes, and I’m pretty pleased with her stockings.

Nice work dude ! The Amelia figure has a good 40K future past feel to it.

Thanks.  Some of the VSF/Steampunk figures I've got do cross over surprisingly well into 40K.

The might be a bit of a pause on the more as I switch fire to Flames of War for a bit to finally get my panzers painted.  There shall be more at some point though...

Well, that was a bit more of a pause than I anticipated, but here're my latest Inq28 figures:

Parson Nathaniel's flock who have taken up arms in the Emperor's name to bring his good word to the masses and offer salvation to heretics at the barrel of a gun.  The figures are the old GW Frateris Militia with the 2 on the left having weapon swaps for a bit of variety.

I thought so too, I converted him into a chainsaw armed Ash :)

That's it!  At the back of my mind I'd had a vague nagging feeling that he looked familiar, but couldn't place it.

Joining in with the current spate of the rather splendid Colony 87 figures, here are my first 2, along with the new kid and 'Barry' the cyborg (to be used for a couple of the scenario complications in Rogue Stars), and someone's sweet ride.

Lovely work.

I'm sure those paramilitary Russian police will be surprised to see how their shields read (in English) if they see themselves in a mirror. Well played, Sir. Well played.  lol

Thanks.  The mirror translation is actually a complete accident, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was one of the reasons why Putin disbanded the real OMON...   ;)

My latest figures, the Grymn trader Mikhail Askimov (snappy dresser, smooth-talker and all-round ladies’ man) and his crew: Drack the faithful Ogryn bodyguard (who shows his sensitive side by wearing a rainbow bracelet – just because he’s the type of person who will rip your arm off and beat you to death with it, doesn’t mean he isn’t in favour of minority rights), Flt Capt Jon Bowles the pilot (lured away from an under-funded military by the prospect of the excitement and credits to be had as a private contractor) and Brody the tech specialist (who is also quite handy in a firefight – proving the point that just because you wear pink, doesn’t mean you can’t be a cigar-smoking badass).

Edit: For those catching up on this thread, Mikhail Askimov's fluff has evolved somewhat and he's now an underworld boss rather than a trader.

Also, some more CIVPOP in the form of the lovely Colony 87 figures.  Another nameless worker, a lord and lady (ripe for rescue/escort/capture missions) and an anonymous functionary.  I haven’t decided yet if the lady is the daughter, or much younger trophy wife of the lord – if the later, then she’s definitely having an affair with the dashing Captain of the Guard (I have no idea if any of that will be relevant to whatever games I use them in, but it’s there just in case).  As an alternative idea for the anonymous functionary, he could also be The Auditor, backed up by four Tech-Thralls with Las-Locks, programmed to obey his every command; he cuts about doing his thing, wielding the power of life or death over those he has weighed and found wanting.
