Finished up my 10mm Spanish Renaissance Army.  Now I have to paint the French. :-)

Good stuff, nice big armies. Which rules are you planning to use?

Regarding photography, a white background can be very hard to photograph against, unless you have a lot of control over the camera settings. A neutral background will be move forgiving, you can use a reflector to get more light on to the front of the figures - this can be as simple as a piece of white paper folded so that it stands on its own.

No props, photographing such small figures can be very hard work, as they easily put themselves in shadow.

I couldn't see on the blog which rules you will be using, I wonder if it was a WM variant due to the bases?

I have several sets of rules I want to try.  I'm a fan of Piquet's Band of Brothers or Hostile Realms. They work well for this period. I'm also looking at "To the Banners" by Stephen Danes. I'm also thinking about modifying "Bear Yourselves Valiantly" for this period as well.

Interesting, lots of sets of rules I don't really know. I've used Irregular Wars for small actions in this period, and looking at Baroque and Victory without Quarter currently for slightly later. But I will have a look into the sets you mention too.

I understand Baroque is more for the later period 30 years war and ECW than the Italian Wars.  I have heard of the other set. I will have to take a look at them.

Yes Baroque is certainly a bit later than Italian Wars, the book says from 1550 to 1700, but I think most people are using them for 17th Century rather than the end of the 16th.

Irregular Wars is a good set for small actions, it has lots of random elements to the game setup. While it doesn't have Italian Wars lists in the book it has several that would be very close.

One of my favourite wars (and scales) to game. Way to go!
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.
