Greetings, everyone...
Just wanted to give a belated hello to the group. I'm a long time war-gamer, both historical and "not so much". I grew up reading Verne and Welles, listening to the tapes my dad made in his youth of popular radio shows. So, when most kids were watching the Transformers, I grew up idolizing the Green Hornet and Captain Nemo. It's also due to my father that I have a particular fondness for the Golden Age comics, too, though I'd choose Pulp over Comic in a pinch, if it came to that. I was never a normal kid - I could spend hours at Disneyworld on the "Jungle Cruise" line while the rest of the family wanted to do other things, and it was relatively late in my childhood that I began to appreciate "rock and roll", having insisted that Big Band was best.
Anyway, as predictable of someone with my sensibilities, I'm currently working on earning that bullwhip and fedora with a PHD in Archaeology. I also do some freelance writing (just had my first supplement for a game published, the other will be out soon), and game design. I have been very lucky to have married a gamer, who also loves wargaming, and is also a fan of many of the same things. She's quite a classy dame.
We're currently located on the West Coast of the US, though we've lived many places. One of the cool things about being in California is that you see a lot of 1920s-30s era architecture, particularly in the big cities in Southern California, which is kind of cool. Very inspirational for writing purposes, and almost makes you ignore the lousy traffic.
Enough of my babbling. Just glad to be here, and wanted to make my intro. Hope to participate as much as possible.
