"The German Neubaufahrzeug series of tank prototypes were a first attempt to create a heavy tank for the Wehrmacht after Adolf Hitler had come to power. Multi-turreted, heavy and slow, they did not fit in with the Blitzkrieg tactics and therefore only five were made. These were primarily used for propaganda purposes, though three took part in the Battle of Norway in 1940."

Only 5 made, eh? Gimme 10 then. ;-)

Naturally, in A World More Pulpish, there'd ahve been a lot more than just 5 of this beast, impracticality notwithstanding.  :D

Let me guess, the Neubaufahrzeug crew simultaneously knock themselves unconscious as they laugh uncontrollably at the "ugly duckling"...  lol

Matilda I wins! ;)

If this would depend on a dice throw I'd probably end up with that result lol

Would have been interesting. If my memory is correct, the Neubaufahrzeug's 75mm only fired HE, the 37mm was for anti-tank use.  Therefore the Neubaufahrzeug would only have been able to damage the Matilda 1's tracks and running gear (this actually happened when the British mounted an armoured counter attack in France in 1940 - German tank guns could not penetrate the Matilda's armour.  Rommel had to use 88mm Flak guns to take out the Matilda 1s and IIs).  The Matilda 1 was, of course, only armed with a .303 or .50 machinegun, so it too would not have been able to effect the Neubaufahrzeug if built with real armoured plate (the 5 made were only made from mild steel).
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Yes it's spot on 1/56 scale / 28mm. The master should be in my hands before the end of february so casting will start immediatley after arrival.

Hi Folks,

Here are some pics of the painted up beastie, courtesy of Tony Ashcroft, the master is enroute to me now.

For all you 3ECW'ers, JTFM Enterprises is currently in the quoting phase for a line up of Pre WW II Brit tanks scheduled for the second half of this year. Stay tuned for the list of vehicles planned!

Cheers,

Jeff @ JTFM

EDIT

Hi Jeff,

Sorry for interjecting here, but I'd to remove the images due to NO German symbol rule.

Please resubmit with paintbrush over the flag, thankyou.

Helen

Sorry about that I had forgotten the legal ramifications !

Pics fixed, sorry for that, I forgot about the legal ramifications especially with this being a German based site.

My apologies.
