Witch Hunter Scenarios?
« on: July 12, 2016, 06:06:17 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone has, or knows of somewhere to get, some good scenarios for some Witch Hunter games.
"Actual" Witch Hunters, as in Puritans, not the GW faction.

Ideally, I would love something like linked scenarios, progressing from one to another.  I have not been able to find any, so I thought I would ask!
I have a new 1/1 scale miniature, so I can't afford to buy anything.  :)

You need to pick up the "Witchfinder General" rulebook.

As well as being a superb set of rules for Witch Hunter games it has a good set of encounters and ideas on campaigns plus a bibliography listing several books dealing with the historical prototypes.
For a more fantasy based approach the Savage Worlds Solomon Kane books are full of ideas.

See if you can find Witchfinder General on DVD. That should give y ou scenario ideas for sure.

DS615, all the above are great ideas!

Witchfinder General: Days of Revelation Game has a group on yahoo, you can find some nice material there: https://uk.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TheWitchfinderGeneral/info

Take a look at these two very inspiring scenarios/AARs:

And congratulations for your new 1/1 miniature!  ;)

the one on the broom is from West Wind
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

West Wind GHW0007 - Storybook witches and old hags ; please note the little child inside the cauldron!  ;)

And their cousins: GHW0002 - The Cousins of The Coven

I've used all of them together once in a multiplayer "Gretel and Hansel & Red Hood against Everything Else" Halloween game; the old hags were two characters with both on foot and flying models - and yes, a witch flying around and throwing explosive pumpkins can make for a very fun game for sure!  lol

Thank you!  She's simply excellent, and an adventure of an entirely different sort.

I didn't know about the group, I'll look at that.

Absolutely, yes!  I've read the collected stories "The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane".  It isn't what inspired this period, but it certainly fueled it!

Thanks everyone for the ideas!

I recognize at least one of these from Foundry in there.

"One of My Men Became Restless" focuses on 15mm Horse & Musket periods and 25mm Horse & Musket, Fantasy, Horror and Victorian everything! Occasionally there'll be stuff of related interest but it's mostly a painters blog.  See it all here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/

If these great Foundry witches decide to unite with the West Wind ones to destroy that peaceful little village, who's gonna stop them?

The VAMPIRES, of course!  ;)
