new Project - Afrika Board for Bolt Action
« on: August 09, 2016, 06:58:00 PM »
Waht do you think about the start?

The buildings are wip. So they need a layer with mud and parts of brickwork (its right? the stones of a wall).

Its ok so or any ideas or tips to make it better?

Looks good so far. Yes they are usually mud brick or adobe and top layer and whitewash over the top
But it tends to crack and fall off in places over time -and it looks better that way IMHO

The basic shape is great but I think the edges need to be softer. I mix air drying clay like Das with PVA glue to get a sticky clay then roll it into sausages and smooth it along the top of the walls.  I get in a lovely sticky mess but it's great fun. When the glue dries it sets rock hard.
I add a layer of premixed plaster filler to the walls , just applying it with my fingers very roughly. When it dries I stipple the walls.

hey, thanks.

yeah, the buildings need some work.
Two buildings gets an workover with sandpaper at the edges. looks much better yet.

here the output from yeserday.
have a lot of walls, to build and than i can start to put filling putty with the sponge over buildigns and walls, for better structure.
