Bit of a dual piece, for Necromunda and the ruined city and depending on the posters I put on it Fallout etc too. Just a generic LOS blocker slash objective.

Started it this weekend at the Figz convention where I gave a Foamboard workshop (well, answered peoples questions mostly, no one had the time to actually sit down and make something for themselves) as a bit of a quick demo piece. Just 1 sheet of foamboard in 4's and a bit of left over board for the entryway. Obviously it is a PIP, the greenstuff cast doorlight is still curing so that is for tomorrow, and I need to cut out a cardboard door for the entryway. I've left off as much Imperial signs as possible, you will only see a bit of that in the posters and the marking on the doorway. Other then that the basic weathering is done, now it is time to go to town with various washes and other effects.

As you can see, just a foamboard box with a ventilation grille from the DIY store stuck inside of it

Oh, and it's a "Necromundian Waste Air Processing Unit" .......anyones guess what it really does. Could be polluting what air there is for all I know.

Nice work. Some clever cutting and a couple of baffles and it could be a dice roller.

Ah shoot, why did I not think of that.

Great new addition. I would give the modification idea with the dice tower a go, it fits perfect for this purpose!

I'll finish this one, then give the dice tower approach a try just for fun.

Beautiful scatter terrain. And yeah - good decal reuse.

Due to a various array of reasons things have slowed down a bit and I've calculated that I have less then 6 months left to get things finished. Ergo, making all the buildings myself isn't going to cut it (literally). I might add a few more, but not enough to cover a 90x90 table. So I made a rewrite, looked at the available budget and the available time and made changes.

I've been making use of a lot of Lasercut stuff this year, and I now know what it can and what it can't. Knowing this, I've been looking at possible Fallout locations to copy on the table, but only the ones that have uses beyond the Post Apocalyptic setting. So things like a Gas Station, a Hospital, a Junkyard etc. Most options are outside my current budget. One of the few that isn't, is a Trailer Park. A Trailer Park in a run down state is perfectly acceptable for a Zombie game or a game of Black Ops or even someone summoning Old Ones! The amount of run down stuff can be varied depending on the game you want to play. It's also one of the cheaper, faster options due to the availability of off the shelf lasercut buildings that only need a paintjob.

So I made a quick drawing of a table setup, to get an idea of what I could do with the stuff available to my budget, plus what items I would have to knock on a few friends doors for to have custom made.

As I have sold a lot of old wargames stuff recently I was actually able to invest today, so within 2 weeks I'm expecting a pile of trailers and small buildings (which gives me 2 weeks to finish building most of my 3mm city) to then build and paint asap all of the received scenery.

I've already been discussing what to do next with a gifted fellow Aspie (he will print, clean up and cast up 28mm Pink Flamingoes!) but I will not commit any more money to this cause untill the first lot of MDF buildings is done. I tend to get way too far ahead of myself and I will not let this happen this time, as I really want to do this demo.

And that is it for now. Stay tuned for more :)
