Great work from Mike and really lovely of Jeff to have this much needed vehicle commissioned for gamers and collectors.

I believe there will be four versions of this truck. With and without winch etc.

Best wishes,

What years did this truck operate? I could use something like that.

All I know is that it was designed in 1941. Beautiful model! What would interest me is, if the British used it as well.

It looks like only the Soviets and those vehicles captured by the Germans. However, I do know Australia used them. Chinese ?

Check the other links and check this one on the Soviets:

Anyone else?

Wonder if they'll do the closed cab version? I like them much better. Production of these was phased out quite early on in favour of the simpler and cheaper open cab one seen here, but there are still loads of them about.

As far as I know Britain had 400 or so closed cab CCKW 352s (that's the short-wheelbase variant) which were used as tractors for Bofors AA guns, and possibly a few towed AT guns too. It seems they were exclusively used as gun tractors, rather than general purpose transport lorries.

I am not 100% on this, there may have been other uses, but that's the info I have.

Hi Guys,

I'd a lovely birthday dinner with Michael an Ailsa last night and Michael showed me the Deuce an a half. It's a beautiful model an one that will be quite popular, know doubt. The spare wheel has been omitted from the photo, but is included.

Michael explained that there will be a passenger version too plus a hard cab with mg option for the passenger side as Jeff has outlined. As Jeff has mentioned, expect to see more variants for this vehicles being released.

The Britsh AFAIK from discussion had this variant shown in the photo for logistical purposes.

Thanks Dylan for your insight on this vehicle.

Hi all,

Been out of commission due to some storm/electricity issues so I'm playing catch up.

I'm going to ask Mike to do a hard top for the truck so there'll be another option for you to have. Plus the Russian versions were all hard tops as I recall. I'll also be looking to have a driver and some other figures done up for the truck.

With some tweeking this model can be used right through WWII to Korea to Vietnam. Heck you still see updated versions still in service here in Canada.

Cheers,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff,

If you look above to one of the links I provided to a member you can see the Soviet versions.

All very good news for truck fans!  8)

Cheers,

Jeff

I'm slightly confused by the reference to a 'passenger version.' What's meant by that?  The same truck was used to transport cargo or passengers. Seats fold up for cargo, fold down again for passengers.  ???
