Idea: Alternative Setting in Ravnica?
« on: August 26, 2016, 04:11:46 AM »
Long story short, not the biggest fan of MTG but I am a huge supporter of the Ravnica setting.

I noticed many of the spells fit well into the Guilds of Ravnica- playing Ravnica with miniatures has always been an aspiration of mine- has anyone else toyed with a similar idea?

Im a big orzhov player- I'm really thinking of the possibilities.

Its always been in my perspective that one of the many beauties of Frostgrave, is how open ended it could be. It has been done before, but a change in setting would be absolutely engaging, especially if both players enjoy it. The game itself can function as a platform for so many things, allowing you to use your own miniatures, your own scenery, so I fully support this concept. Hell I'd play any MTG setting if I had the scenery for it, I think Zendikar, Mirrodin, and even Theros would all be interesting settings as well.

Thank you,
LC
I do hope you enjoyed reading whatever it is I have typed, I likely put some thought into it, and appreciate when others look into my brain and go, "Huh, okay"

Ravnica has my favorite lands and very cool setting. Good ties.

I was toying with MTG RPGs from time to time in the past but this Ravnicagrave would beg great.
But you have top sculpt or heavily convert miniatures to have them feel like Ravnica.

I dont think color alone would do the trick.
And Guildmages had strong visuals.

I checked my cards and Orzhov is not that difficult to do :>
(I played Orzhov deck in those ancient times too and have some cards :>
 After further googling
Beside common soldiers with visorless helets with one gem eye (easy conversion) Its doable with Reaper and other easily available models.

But I am not sure what with other guilds.
