USMC advice needed
« on: August 29, 2016, 12:51:32 PM »
These are initial thoughts for build from scratch USMC.

Your thoughts on any of these being to powerful, not playable, and etc.?

Additions;
Stats;
Pluck to 4+?
Navajo Scout becomes a "Marine" (Scout/Sniper) instead?

Corpsman; needs more. Maybe defibrillator counts as Arc weapon lol... Or some Mystic abilities for courage under fire? Any ideas here?

Weapons;
Shotgun (Military Shotgun)?
And add Bayonet Drill to include "Military" Shotgun?
Medium MG?
Light MG?

A made up rule house rule;
USMC Bayonet was 18” long should it count as a short sword and added to Bayonet Drill accordingly.
(Sword is +4 points Combat Knife is +3) pay the Sword price and adjust bayonet drill to FV +4 instead of FV +3?

Talents;
Navajo Scout (Marine Scout/Sniper above) needs Talents Available to Captains, Gunnery Sgts, and Marines, or at least the Marksman Talent?

Swimming, USMC is an amphibious force and Swimming was taught, Corpsman as well?

Gear;
Targeting Array (Scope) Available to Marine Scout/Sniper?

Thanks for any input in advance.

Marines don't have medics, they rely on Navy corpsmen. As such, probably shouldn't be as exceptional as the Marines.

1 Item not included in the original USMC list - the dynamite gun (used compressed air to hurl the charge so was silent) which was apparently used during the Spanish-American conflict. Perhaps a mounted version of the Congreve from IHMN would suffice.

Yes, and they are not as exceptional in the rules, nor did want to make them as exceptional, but I was wondering about them having some sort of upgrade to make them grizzled, calm under fire, etc.

Further to my earlier post, I thought you might be interested in this manufacturer...

Tiger Miniatures, sold through Recreational Conflict in the US, do a pretty extensive range of 28mm figures for the Spanish American Wars, including a dynamite gun.

They also do a number of other useful ranges, amongst which are German colonials and Mounties.

I took the chance to photograph some of the ranges at the Derby worlds last weekend.

Hope this helps...
