The Bearer of the Dracothian Banner
« on: September 05, 2016, 04:14:37 PM »

This little lady will be rallying the forces of order in our next Age of Sigmar game.  She bears the Dracothian banner.  I haven't decided what that does yet and I need to come up with a War Scroll for her.  Definitely a lover rather than a fighter, her presence on the field of battle will be more inspirational than it will be destructive.

It seemed like the model and fluff behind it didn't fit in particularly well with the new setting.  So now it is an Elven princess (or Aelven or whatever) bearing the banner of the great dragon, travelling from realm to realm propping up the forces of Sigmar.

Lovely! The cream and green colour scheme works really well.

Very nice! 8)

I love the Belladonna miniature and your subtle conversion is great. Especially the colourscheme works really well, the banner is spectacular  and I really like the dappled painting on the horse. Is that one of the 'new' plastic High Elf horses btw?

She must have some serious arm strength though, to be so casually holding that big, heavy banner like that... ;)

And I still have an abandoned project lying around with that mini, originally intended to be a GD entry. Maybe I should revisit her ::)

Wonderful paintwork...but man that'd be a heavy banner to gallop around with!  lol

The banner pole's presumably made of liftwood, no doubt obtained from one of her relatives.  I mean, just look at those telltale ears, there's clearly some Martian in her family tree.

Brilliantly painted figure!!! The shading of colors in general and the horse in particular are only surpassed by the buxom attributes of this fine Elven princess. My first thought was that she must have etherial servants holding her blouse in place, because it seems to be in mortal danger from the slightest jiggle of her mount.

Great work, keep it coming. And... I'm soooo jealous!

I'm glad you guys like her.

I'm thinking the banner is probably magical.  Much like Elric wielding a two handed sword with one hand like it was a scalpel, the banner probably either is magically light or gives her the strength to life it.  I imagine this is the case with a lot of the big fantasy swords we see.
