First of my French Napoleonic Line Infantry
« on: February 01, 2009, 06:55:37 PM »
Hey again!
As promised, I have pictures of my first group of French Napoleonic Infantry. I am working with 1812—1815 uniforms. I still have my flank companies to paint, and this block of infantry is not organized right as to where each company is standing in the formation.

C&C welcome, hope you like!

Nice work! And nice to see some Napoleonic figures!  8)

From what manufacturer are they? They look like Perry’s but are they lead or plastic figures?

Looking good, nice buildings too, they look scratch built. :)

Very nice work!  You did a nice job on the skin tones.  As far as the buildings are concerned, I bet they are foamcard and balsa with GW building bits (doors and windows).   They look good!  The table looks nice too.

I asm curious about the brand as well.  I am working on several ships, and I need some troops to transport and fight in them!  I am a total Patrick O'Brien fan, so this is a GREAT couple threads you have going on here!

Thanks! I do pride myself on painting human skin.
The models are the beautiful new Perry plastic French. I really like the way they sculpt faces, and have since I started painting many years back on their GW Valhallans. They have some good expression to them and it was a joy to paint.

The buildings pictured are indeed scratch built foam core and GW door bits. However, these examples are not my work. I apologise if it is against the protocol here to use another's buildings as a backdrop for your models. They are at my local game shop.
I recently moved and had to lose my terrain for space :(

This is the village I made a year back, that still lives in San Jose.

Sorry to double post.
I am working on my Grenadier company and some of the skirmishing Voltigeurs. Hope to have pics up soon.

Eagerly awaiting the Plastic Curiassiers!

Using the gaming club's buildings is not against the rules by any stretch of the imagination.  I am getting the bug to make some buildings, and I have some GW building bits (windows and doors) in my stack of stuff.  I rarely spot the various bits, but I recognized those!  no worries.

Can't wait to see some more of your work.  I am saving my pennies for some Napoleonic soldiers as well.  I certainly will have to make some room on my table amongst my boxes of GW Orcs and Goblins....Ha ha ha!
