Getting my WW mojo Back...
« on: September 19, 2016, 08:02:22 PM »
Got back into painting after a hiatus for most of the Summer, over the past few days I turned my attention to the pile of Wild West minis that have been waiting for paint for quite a while.

I did them quite quickly, in batches, my main main goal was to create a few small gangs that can be used in various skirmish style scenarios.

First up are some Mexicans. I painted the female many years ago. She's from Copplestone, and the rest are from Artizan (I think).

Next up a few Cavalry figures from Foundry.

A few Native Americans, I did the female a couple of years ago.  The minis in the first picture are Deadlands minis (I think) with the remainder from Artizan.

Finally, for now, a few 'town' type minis.  Again, I did the female a while back, she's a Deadlands mini, and the rest are from Artizan/Foundry (not sure).  Need to finish some of the bases.

Painting these has rekindled my Wild West mojo, so I'll press on with doing a couple more gangs - I have some Pinkerton types, some Rustlers, and a load more townsfolk to do!

Thanks for looking :)

Wonderful work: crisp style, great color palette, and figures are full of character!  :-* :-* :-*

If you find you ever have any excess mojo, kindly shoot a little my way: my brushwork could surely use it!

Thanks for all the kind words - very motivating! :)

And yes, I want to get a game together as soon as possible... hopefully a multi-ganged affair with overlapping objectives.

Really lovely painting, I love them all and especially the stripes on Al Swearengen!   :-*

Could you or anyone else identify the minis in the last photo? I'm looking for a couple of reporter-type figures for my town.

Hey, there, "neighbor", that is some mighty fancy brushwork you've been applying to them sundry folk.  Now, I don't mean to question, but allow me to question - just where did that Spanish lass find a bottle of red hair dye back in the Old West, or did somebody just now spill a real bottle of redeye and she's a lookin' for a bath house?  If that latter be the case ain't no wonder she's roaming about in her undergarments.  Doesn't she know better?  There just might be some gentlemen about for whom that moniker is a pronounced misnomer.  Oh, and if she can't find no wheres else, I know of a spot she can bathe, and I'll wash her back for her, too.  Now step away from that spittoon unless you want my tabaccy to splash on them fancy new boots.
