Congo 1961 - conversion advice needed!
« on: September 24, 2016, 05:39:22 PM »
I want to convert some miniature to this( Swedish UN soldier with Carl Gustav in Congo 1961):

I have found the Carl Gustav, now I need a bazooka type WW2 or Cold War miniature in shirt firing. I would be most grateful for any advice! Thanks

If you are prepared to settle for walking rather than firing, then  Eureka's  ZANLA RPG-2 gunner is ideal. I've use this figure for a number of conversions. The RPG is easy to saw/cut away. I've swapped it out for RPG-7s and a scratch built 57mm RCL. The WF plastic US heads fit very well with these figures but given it's in a cap you could just leave that on. You will need to cut away the rocket in his left hand but that's a cinch.

With a bit more work, mostly camouflaging the body armour, you could probably do somethng with this for a firing figure:

Another option would be Commando Mniatures, Indonesian with anaemic bazooka figure:

Thanks for your advice!

As I want firing poses I think the Warlord plastic US Marines sprue offers the most flexibility in tough competition with the TAG WW2 US Marines Bazooka team.
