Zombies....lots of zombies....

What i lack in quality, i try to make up for in quantity....





46 zombies on a base that measures just over 4" in diameter - covers the same table area as approximately 16 zeds on my normal 2 pence bases.  The zeds are a real mix, of whatever i had to hand - Spyglass, zombiesmith, the Matt Lord HF zeds, the Mississippi ones, some converted superhero civvies, even the odd foundry civilian.

I mounted them on the base first of all, and then painted what you can see, so it was pretty quick to do - three hours not including drying time.

This is my answer to the "Zombie Herd" idea of the Walking Dead graphic novel series.  I figure that 46 zeds on a base is pretty much invulnerable to small arms fire, and would move around the table like the vortex missile in a game of laserburn, eating up anything in its path.  It could also act as a spawn point, with individual zombies moving away from the mass.

wow, that's really a brilliant idea. If the plastic zombies from wargames factory come out I might very well use them for something like this (if I ever stat painting zombies that is...)

Though as soon as your table has some narrow alleys the heroes can easily escape.

Do you already have a showcase/site with pictures of your entire horde? So far I like all I've seen.

I had attached a bunch of GW zombies to a single base, in an attempt to create more of a horde look.



Egads, I did that some time ago, and I'm just now starting to paint the little brain munchers....

Having them all on the same base really adds to that clausterphobic crush feeling.  It really works well with your stuff!

Great idea, well executed and would work brilliantly in participation games, or even if you wanted to introduce unsuspecting newbies to the joys of zombie-hunting. I can just imagine the looks on our heroes faces when their small band of adventurers goes round a corner and bumps into this lot

Just posted some more ECW3 here - ended up repainting the Foundry guys i bought at Vappa  at the weekend.

I'm not going to do zombies for ECW3 though - if it turns into another Weird World War 2 game i think it would be a real shame - ECW3 has plenty of character all of its own for me, without the need for zeds etc.
