Neuchatel Battalion, what figures?

Got these from an estate sale, and I’m short 6 line infantry figures, and a 4 figure command stand to make a full battalion.  I’d like to match the line infantry as close as possible, pose and size, and of course I could fudge a bit with the command figures.
Thanks in advance.

Trying to figure out a way to put the pic in post, if possible.

For some reason the flickr link showed me the picture for a few seconds, then jumped to some page that *didn't* show the figure, before I could get a good look. They seemed to be 25mm figs, though, and I didn't recognize them. By the sculpting style they might be Minifigs French, I'm not familiar with their 25mm line, though, just the 15s.

To put a picture in a post, choose the 'insert image' icon (second row of icons, second from left). That will put img begin and end tags in your post. Then put the url address, such as the flickr url, between the tags. There's a better explanation in the site Help documentation.
You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

About the "insert image", I did that.  The address you see is essentially a second entry.  The first try at showing the image, the one with the "img" and "/img", just doesn't show on the final post.

FWIW, there are no markings on the underside of the bases.  They have all been filed clean and flat.

That was interesting. The address you posted doesn't work at all in img tags. Maybe for the same reason that the link isn't stable for me. I notice there's no direct reference to a jpg.

I backed up to your photostream on flickr, selected the picture, shared it, selected the BBcode address, which is:

Swiss3 by mross7, on Flickr

Hm Looks like that displays the jpg without any img tags. I didn't expect that to happen. I extracted the specific address of the jpg from the full BBcode address:

https://c4.staticflickr.com/9/8280/30080239075_51fa6cf735_b.jpg

and put *that* inside the img tags. Lookee. Now you try:

Oh that's nice, it even has a slider. There are img tags embedded in the full BBcode address, I guess that's why it too displays the jpg.

Thanks, I'll remember that.   :D  I copied the "share" BBcode to notepad and picked out the address with the *.jpg as you said.  That worked, the first post is now "corrected".  The first link method worked fine on other sites.

So, best bet is they're minfigs (oop?) french light infantry?

I would bet these are Jack Scruby 30mm figures.  Jack did a special Neuchatel Battalion deal back circa 1972; IIRC it included command and a sapper or two. They look like his style, somewhat crude by modern standards. At one time, I had well over 1,000 of his Napoleonic figures. He did 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, and N gauge, for Napoleonics,  IIIRC. I think the special Neuchatel unit was 30mm, though. Of course, any French infantry figures could be pa9ned as Neuchatel... the famous "canaries" of Marechal Berthier.

Yeah, definitely too tall to be Minifig 25s.

Yes...
It is rather strange that considering how many miniatures Jack Scruby made that there are so few pictures of the dam things  lol

It might be worth asking Historifigs if they could supply a picture or two :?

All the best.  Aly
