Warlord Pike and Shotte?
« on: October 03, 2016, 04:13:11 PM »
Does anyone have any good close up pictures of Warlord Games Pike and Shotte infantry?  I am having a real hard time figuring out where one piece of clothing ends and another begins, and what is what, especially on the legs.  They seem to have pants, shoes, socks, and and something else?

I don't have a close up of the plastic infantry but I do have this shot of the mule driver; his trousers, socks and shoes are the same as the infantry though: pants tied below the knee with ribbon, followed by two layers of socks (in this case a light coloured sock underneath a heavier grey woolen sock followed by shoes).

That look of the outer stocking rolled down is however incorrect and copied by the sculptor from the bad habits of re-enactors!

Rolled down or fallen down?

I don't know if it is just a thing from re-enactors. It is featured in many illustrations of the Ecw, and in earlier times, the over stockings where rolled down (take a look at the Perry bros medieval hyw) so I guess that at the very least it is a valid supposition that Ecw overstockings might have been rolled down. I do think that it is overdone in some ranges though- I think nearly every Warlord Ecw figure has their overstockings rolled down, for example.
