Re: My armies on Mars - U/D Aug 29 Cohaagen Corporation landships
« Reply #77 on: August 29, 2020, 06:56:26 PM »
Thank you, here are some more Landships fresh off the assembly line. These are destined for the Cohaagen Corporation, a 'mining' company with extensive interests throughout the solar system, and a major base on Mars.

My question to all, are they better with or without the fancy energy device on the back. At first I was thinking it is too much, but then I realized that that is the essence of VSF conveyances, so now maybe the add on is not enough.

Also little disappointed that I did not add as much brass as I usually try do. Only able to add it to the thing a ma bob on the top of the turret. Not certain what it is, maybe an antennae, or some viewing device.

Great stuff  :)

Personally I think they’d look better without the extra engine gubbins but tend to prefer my tech a little bit simpler  :)
cheers

Nice work. I like the profile with the energy devices as is.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

Toy conversions!
Love those dollar store farming toys.

The turrets are from a 15mm alternate WWII Gear Krieg add on blister pack.

What I am going to say is heresy, but while I like the vehicles I won't be stealing the idea. I have too many landships as it is.

Re: My armies on Mars - Update March 02 2022 pg newly painted cavalry

Not dead merely sleeping...

Well fresh from the Analogue painting challenge I have the following troops to add to "My armies on Mars"

It has been too long since I last posted an update, sorry. However courtesy of the Analogue Painting challenge I have leapt back into painting stuff and in the forefront of this new found desire to paint things is my VSF troops. I now have a plethora of items to add, including infantry, cavalry and a submarine.. Hopefully it will not be a short lived flurry of activity...

I was able to paint up all 30 of my remaining RAFM Martian cavalry, bringing me to a total of 40 figures to field. I started off thinking that I would try to emulate my old style, however that style was kind of dated. So  I went with brighter colours for the riders but more or less the same dull paint job on  the mounts.

I also finished off 10 colonial Martian cavalry, also by RAFM

Sadly I have a limited selection of photos, I will have take more picture and add them to my system so that I can get more images posted here, but for now these will have to do.

To be fair it was your excellent Space 1889 post that made me revive this ancient thread!! :)

Cracking stuff from you and your mates!

In keeping with this Gashant arms race, here are a few more, they are repurposed mounts.
Sadly I do not have any more to paint...right now... ;)
