Thanks Beast - I think Gisby has his own blog where he posts up some of his work.

Those are the Wood Elves figures. I've used High Elves and Dark Elves from the old Grenadier UK ranges recycled from the old 'Fantasy Warrior' rules days so that they are now used as Canal Martians.

Right, Doug, the other Doug, put it in his post. I should have just put that link up there.  ::)

I was looking at the Mirliton as possible Canal; again, would be a different vision for the lads, but not jarringly so.

Doug

Lovely to see.

I believe that any 'Lizard Infantry' for the Space 1889 setting might have been intended for Venus settings? But it's VSF - you can use whatever you want for whatever you need for your campaign.

Oh I know they are native to Venus, and these are my Venusian lizards  :D, In this case they happen to be in the service of Germany, who have seen fit to transport them to Mars.
Thankfully, as I mentioned but did not explain, the chameleon like aspect of their skin, that normally leans towards a greenish hue, has taken on a more reddish hue due to the new environment.

While the lizard troops seem ill at ease on the dry planet, the German high command appreciate the fact that the mere appearance of their lizard troops on the battlefield, apparently causes a collective chill down the spines of the Martian population.

They too are from RAFM, Space 1889, 'Lizard infantry". I believe they came with firearms, though that might have been the martian cavalry, that I have not got around to attaching.

I have chosen to believe that they have chameleon like qualities, hence the red/orange hue while on Martian service.

This posting of stuff is having the desired effect, I have begun assessing what I have, and I am getting ready to dive back in. For good or bad I have discovered nigh upon 120 almost completed Martians...I was so close to being done. There are 80 or so that have been primed desert yellow waiting in the wings and 30 to 40 cavalry.

Thankfully I keep a record of the paints I use so hopefully I can start off from were I left off.
One final note, today, my painting log is dated 2007, boy when I get distracted, I get distracted!

Great to see that you have restarted your project and are keen again. Being on here has likewise rekindled my painting and wanting to play games again after 6 years away.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

A couple of new pictures added.
Cavalry need spears, but at least these 10 are essentially done only 40 or so to go.
The last photos some of the 120 just teetering on the brink.

Oh did I mention that I now have it in my head to re-base everything onto washers?
So it was not enough that I have so many figures to finish!
There are days I just hate my brain for the 'thoughts' it has... o_o

I cannot believe it has been almost a year since I last posted, and all I have are these two Martian critters...

But it is a start (restart)

These beasts are fantastic. Where are they from?

They are void miniatures (maybe Ikor?), picked them up for next to nothing in a dump bin many years ago. They came with a one man howdah/weapon platform, but I wanted them to look more natural/untamed

Occurs to me I did not take a picture with anything to give a sense of scale, I will fix that tomorrow.

Nice thread. I too have those Void dinos lying around, might as well give them the same treatment as you as I am never going to play Void  :D

So I am on something of a roll right now. Plenty of stuff being worked on this stuff just the tip of the completed iceberg (I hope)
Small armoured mechanical conveyors are Spartan Games as is the rocket launcher and Tesla gun.
The electric cannon is GW.

Coming soon, walkers, robots and minions.
Coming a little later Dominion of Canada armoured mechanical conveyors, mobile artillery platforms and infantry.

Finally worked on some more stuff. This time I have finished off my Dominion of Canada tri-cycle conveyors.
Soon to add some patchwork-clockwork automatons, some more minions and some Japanese walkers.
