Harpies on order...will need an old man...wasn't he called phineas?

The king of Salmydessus, whom the Argonauts freed from the Harpies, was named Phineus. Phineas is a Latinization of the Hebrew Pinchas, who was an early High Priest and grandson of Aaron, and whose name derives from the Egyptian Pa-nehasi, meaning 'southerner' or 'dark-skinned'. Now you know, and knowledge is powerful.

Oh look, another nit. Must go pick it...

You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

Great stuff here - also looking forward to more.

Are your skeletons the old Wargames Factory ones? I've always thought they were perfect for the film...

And yes, Phineas (or Phineus, but I think the film calls him Phineas with an "a") is the old man plagued by harpies. Wikipedia tells me that in the film he was played by Patrick Troughton, of all people (in his pre-Doctor Who days). Not sure if that helps with figure choice or not!

And what about Nigel Green (aka Colour Sergeant Bourne) as Hercules? I suspect some fun might be had here.

Now you'll just have to add Hera to the model.

I would take the torso of a naked female miniature and replace it where the prow comes up in a tail.  You might have to play around with sizes to get one to match.  If 28mm is too small then look for a 54mm plastic model there are plenty of 54mm slave girls on EBay.

That aquarium temple really makes an excellent terrain piece!

Figs are nice, too.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
