You can't unhear a lie - 3rd plaque
« on: December 02, 2016, 09:15:59 AM »
Been meaning to post WIP on this, but having scrapped the first attempt thought I'd get to a stage where I was happy with
the piece.

This is the 3rd in the set of plaques "You Can't Unhear a Lie" (or hear no evil). The face on the left that looks back to
the past is tinged with sadness while the face on the right looking to the future is slightly smiling and represents hope.

The next stage I will sculpt separately and if successful will then put it onto the plaque, a hooded acolyte holding a book
and will be placed in the middle lower part of the plaque so the acolytes head is in front of the pyramid, well below the eye.

That is a great start.
It looks like another winner is on its way.

the hooded mechanoid cultist done, little bit of tidy up and the frame to do but near the finish line no,
experimented with the macro setting on the camera but can't see any difference at this focal length (more experimenting required!)

Ok, complete re-sculpt of occultist done, just the border section to finish off, I was pleased with the bas-relief sculpt but it
just wasn't working with the more rounded out faces - this fits much better, another great learning

I like the adjustment to the design.
I think that it looks much better this way.

Thanks BlueShaggoth  8) after a lengthy process of various parts getting sculpted, scrapped and re-sculpted and scrapped again.....

I have finally got the 3rd plaque finished! Really pleased now, the face looking back into the past showing
the wear and tear and fatigue of life, the more youthful and hopeful face looking to the future.

With "the lie" trying to still tear into the fabric of both the Illuminati pyramid's all seeing eye is mirrored
by the larger eye in the background "as above, so below". The obedient servant and interpreter of the written law
reads from the text without understanding, muffled by the machinery that sustains his existence, regurgitating it
in a blur of detachment.

the gallery contains images for all 3 and will repost when I have the resin casts in hand from the delightful Rob
over at Hysterical Games  8)

That thing is amazing mate, you could make a whole range of lovecraftian scenery pieces if you wanted, impressed with the sculpting.

thanks indeed, I've been occupied with a GW project for a good while but the sculpting is niggling and the GW project nearing completion,
I'm just pleased people like what I do and take the time to comment, I have a lot of ideas in my head and I'm really enjoying the process  8)
