Road Warrior Scavenger
« on: February 16, 2009, 09:21:27 PM »
Today i received the "Mad Max" trilogy DVD-Box via airmail from the UK (yea, the good old english version, much better than the rated 16 german scrap version ^^)

And to celebrate this day i have to show you my first Road Warriors for my own Mad Max TT project :)

I hope you enjoy it:

But twi things are still missing, first the bases and than a Dog for Max :)

Who make those, my Norse brother?

One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

They're old Grenadier now produced in the UK by EM-4 Miniatures http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/SAVAGES.html - at a very reasonable cost and with a service that is second to none.
I don\'t know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

Many thanks. These are some pretty righteous figures. Back in the early 80's there were some actual Road Warrior miniatures I saw once painted up at a comic book store. At the time, I only played D&D with miniatures, so they remained unpurchased. Ah, if only there were a time machine.....
  Thanks again!

You can still buy them, but I cannot remember who makes them. Somewhere I have the Wez figure but he is lost deep in the lead mountain... ::)

I'd think the cars are more important :P

Any ideas for a ruleset yet? Oh, and nice models, I believe we've seen Max here before but the savages look good too! 8)

I don't recall what kind of dog Max had, but Ebob does some very nice german sheperds

- at least he used to - now they do not seem to come without license....  :o :(

They have one in their Stalag Luft III which is a lot cheaper than one with a license ;)

It would be better just to buy the animals though without license or Germans ;)

Thank you a lot.

The miniatures are old mirliton/grenadier minis as already stated above by capthugeca. I bought my at http://www.em4miniatures.com  (as stated by capthugeca, too ^^).

@ Pil :
You´re right, I had shown Max already a month ago, but without his "friends" ^^.
I think i´m going to use the .45 Adventure Rule Set from Rattrap Productions, because it´s my favorite set of rules for skirmish based games and you can represent just everything with it by doing some upgrades to the Archetypes or just making your own archetypse (what i´m going to do :)
A first Version of the "upgraded" Set of rules is already finished. There are a bunch of new Archetypes added to the core rules for representing Savages and Road Warriors, the next thing to do is to work out some szenarios. (in the moment i´m working on the "Vault of Death", it´s similar to the Thunderdome ;) )

Cars are another problem to solve, i´m looking for a 1:48 V8 Interceptor die cast model and for the "bad guyes" i´m going to use everything i can find.

@ Argonor, Postal and Pil:
Thanks for the link. Ebobs Animals are fantastic :)

Malamute, when your memory is jogged as to the manufacturer of the minis, please PM me at your first convenience. And thanks very much for letting me know they are still around!

Excellent paintjob!  8)

Ah, Mad Max - one of my favourite movies... ;D

Maybe this car works - with some conversion works (I know it is 1/43...)

http://www.biante.com.au/product_15816.htm

As for the dog - don't take a German shepherd, rather one of these smaller ones:

http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_126_153_162&products_id=1927

or from this sprue (though it is currently not available... :()

But you might get the idea...

TANK POLO? God, how our gardener hated that game!
