I remember getting small Smurf toys in chocolate cakes when we were in Spain on holiday when we were kids.Might have to try to dig them out.I am sure that they were a similar size to the small Asterix figures.

Damn, I love it!
Being a kid I was a huge Smurf (or Schlumpf fan).
The black Smurf attack was one of my favourites! GASCH!!!
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

There is nothing weird about this project at all, except that it hasn't already been done!
Have you seen these?

Foundry Viking for scale. They came in 3 pks or with little parts of the Village. Used pop up on eBay all the time, may provide some useful bits.

........I remember getting small Smurf toys in chocolate cakes when we were in Spain on holiday when we were kids.........

They are still everywhere over here, frequently show up in supermarkets and newsagents packed in with crayons, sweets and such like. Virtually all the games stores carry collectable figures, mugs, plaques etc.
There is a Smurf theme park being built in Lleida and then there is Júzcar........ ???

I have, have been tempted to pick up a few sets from a local store to use some of the bits, but have been able to resist the temptation. :)

After the pleasing result with the first house, I attacked the second, and decided to go for a new colourscheme that I think worked well. I also used a bigger brush, which made a huge difference on the roof.

Shown here from different angles, with the original paintjob in the last picture:

I did this a while ago (only had a chance to post them now)  and was so pleased with the result that I went back to the store and bought ten more of the piggybanks. With hindsight, I should have picked a few more, as they never got them back in stock, but 12 should make a decent sized village.

Hold it, a Smurf in 28mm would be about 1mm tall wouldn´t it?  lol
