The metal seem like a better idea to me too (especially as you may be able to shift a few and recoup your costs)

Wait... I see what you did there. You just want me to take that route so you can get some copies for yourself. :o lol

I tried to give them a coat with lighter blue, to see if that makes them better, even had to mix a colour for it as I didn't have any light ones in the right tone and now that they're dry, they still look dark. ::)

Edit: Somewhat lighter and brighter though.

Are you still smurfing this project? If so, any chance of seeing a size comparison shot of your minis for scale?

Project still ongoing but on the backburner until the sculptor can get on with the next batch. I did manage to acquire another half dozen of the resin houses though.  lol

I will try to get a size comparison taken. The question is with what though.  ???

Man I have always wanted to buy smurfs.
Brilliant. Peyo would be
Proud.

But the design I like is no longer in the stores.

Compared to another 28mm figure* or even a ruler.

* A painted 40K Ultramarine is preferable for a Smurf vs Smurf comparision  ;)

So, when running this are you going to have a UNICEF faction that can drop bombs on them or something? That's the big thing related to the Smurfs that I actually remember because the outrage was hilarious...

Apologies for the lack of comparison pictures, it was a busy weekend.

I'm sure someone makes suitable figurs if you're so inclined, but probably GI Joe size would be most appropriate. ;)

OMG! I just googled that.

Comics of my youth seem to be the inspitation for my middle age. Here are some other Gallic comic characters that I converted for my Hail Caesar Gauls

Not trying to highjack your post, but I have been trying to resist strategies of fielding smurfs in some way ever since seeing your topic. Though it best I finished one project I had already started on a similar theme

Great project......if still alive ?

If interested, you can find the Schleich smurfs at a very good price in the Action stores actually....in Belgium

Like the Asterix conversion too

It is. It's been on the backburner as I need to make arrangements with the sculptor to fill the gaps before I can get them all moulded up. But it's not dead and will hopefully continue in 2018.
