Still on the Xmas holi but managed to visit one FLGS that I know stocks some Microart Studio items and grabbed few sci-fi doors and some barriers. The barrier bits got a quick paint job test, as seen in the pic below. Not that happy with the end result myself, need to try to achieve more lighter shade or then exchange blue altogether to some other colour in the end.

If only I could play the game viewing things through the Prisma app, then the end result would be fine by me  lol

Well I had a productive day (by my standards, that is) in the terrain making side of things.

I started with this

Made a small thingy on wheels, so the guys of engine room 4 can zoom around from place to place without a hassle and then four metal pallets, two of which will have some parts like the engines shown etc glued to place and then two empty ones for different crates and such.

Then the first terrain tile got a wall and some pipe works:

And after that some paint and here's the almost final result. As you can see, the wall's top part needs some tinkering yet (LEDs perhaps?) and those two metal pallets need to be painted from underneath but then I call these done.

Comments and ideas and whatnots more than welcome.

Cheers for looking.

Great additions to the project, mate.
I really like the buggy, great imagination.

The colouration on the walls and piping looks spot on too.

What did you use for the 'wall'?
It looks very useful.

That looks great!  A scene right from a sci fi movie or video game.

I've got one of those big droids too, I gotta dig him out.

Cheers Paul  8)

Glad you like the colouring and the look of the first tile, I'm positively surprised about the end result myself, too :)

The wall is two of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TT-MECHANICAL-CHAIN-BASE-001-Machine-Nest-and-Action-Base-for-Gundam-Model-Kit-/172431072288?hash=item2825b15c20:g:558AAOSwrklVOknp

I flipped them upside down so the small doors will be now place for the LEDs or something similar. I think I need to order some more of these for few more wall tiles. Then I need to come up with something for the bases that come with the walls... they could work in a sci-fi setting too.

There are several different those wall sets, so search for the "mechanical chain base" in eBay and you get plenty of options to choose from.

edit: @many thanks supervise :) Yes, that robot is adorable. I'm thinking of cutting its legs and make it a hover version.

Looks awesome!  I'll have to keep following your build so I can steal all of your ideas  >:D .  I'm just looking at sci fi terrain without logos for the first time and am trying to sort out a look that is universal rather than distinctly intended for something like 40k or Infinity; Threads like yours and some of the others are invaluable inspiration.

Thank you for the feedback gents :)

The walls I have been familiar with many years ago but ditched that project so for this I had to buy a new set  o_o

@horridperson: Pls steal as much as you find useful, I'll do it myself too here on LAF... it's too darn easy, so many cool projects with great ideas abound here. I try to make my terrain as multi-purpose as possible so I try to avoid plenty of skulls etc "logos" and such.

Now looking at the first tile I think I need to use some weathering powders on the floor yet here and there...

Many thanks for the comments chaps :)

Still need many more tiles to have a playable board so no stopping now... I just hope I don't run out of ideas for the tiles  o_o

Current plan is the have five 500mm x 250mm tiles and six 250mm x 250mm to have that 1000mm x 1000mm playing area.

One of the big tiles will contain the GIO (Gas-like Ion Outputter) and another will be a work/maintenance area of some sort full of old rusty motors etc. Then one of the small ones will be with the previously seen dizzy cap part and another will be a robot charging station of some sort.

Anyways, here's 2nd terrain tile in the making, any ideas what it will be in the end? Oh, and I think almost all the tiles will have rusty piping showing in some form, so the piping will be the common element between the tiles :)

Comments, ideas and feedback always welcome.
