Great to see that others find my project interesting as well, so it's not only me :D

Pace has been quite good since I have had a chance to devote my time to this. Now next three days will be spent at medieval castles (the real ones) so this will stall a bit. Then the Build Something Contest 2017 has started as well so it will eat project time as well. I do have plans for next three big tiles and two small ones but I think I need to get more paint to be able to continue with those... as well as some more piping is needed.

Anyhow, here's a wip/pip pic of the third tile, the DWD tile. All the tiles need some dusting with pigments etc but maybe that's something that is most wise done at last moment when all of them are otherwise done.

Things that I would need to purchase to get next tiles finished are:

- 3-5 aircon units
- 6 sci-fi containers (if nothing good turns up, I need to go GW)
- computer consoles and work stations

Unfortunately Pardulon is out of business, any other good sources for the above?

Cheers for looking!

And here's the three tiles together:

Looks pretty flat, I think. Of course it also lacks all clutter and scatter pieces so maybe I haven't got anything to worry about, yet.

On the bigger 500mm x 250mm tiles I try to reach higher levels (maybe not in productive way) as I want there to be a possibility to use scaffolding/platforms etc suitable options to reach "higher ground" vantage points if needed.

edit: @Michka: correct on the rods' origin, sorry, forgot to mention it earlier.

Elevated gantries are essential in industrial areas. They'll really add the multi-level look you're aiming for. That said, I love these!!

Did you mention what you're using for the pipes? They look like toy parts?

@axiom: Two of the big tiles will hopefully have "level 2" platforms/gantries, about at the height of the wall of the first tile. Third bigger tile will most likely have "level 1.5" platform in one end. For more gantries and higher passageways I might need to make movable terrain so those pieces could be moved from one tile to another for different set-ups.

The piping comes a Danish chain of stores, called Flying Tiger Copenhagen (IIRC), called Tiger for short around here. It's a crafts and trinkets store and the piping is actually a set of build-it-yourself plastic straw, see the picture below. I bought one set about year ago, just for this kind possible piping work in mind, and today bought five more sets. So I should be covered in that respect for the rest of this project. The plastic of straws is more stronger than in normal straws, takes paint nicely and glues easily. Perfect.

@pocoloco - thanks! I've identified a suitable similar kit on eBay that I may pick up :)

This project is really starting to come together, looking great so far!  Those straws are a great find, going to see if I can source some here.

Cheers gents :)

One vital component that needs to be mentioned are the following:

Those of you with babies/toddlers will surely recognise those from babyfood "packages". I will use the caps as aircon units (have seen some ppl doing it here on LAF) and the caps counterpart I have used for the piping starting/ending points, as the straws fit perfectly to those :)

Very inventive use of an everyday item.

Looks like I'll be ransacking my house for usable items shortly as well  :D
