Nice figures and paintjobs.

Seriously great paint job?
Sorry mate but great they ain't
The painter has manage to "orange peel" the primer and the paintwork has suffered because it is painted over a bobbly surface.
If you had painted these yourself I wouldn't have commented, but as you've paid a professional you should be sending them back to be stripped and repainted, or seeking to have your money refunded.
You should also be naming and shaming the painter as what he has done is totally unacceptable for a professional.
And he's also missed a couple of mould lines.
Sorry but you did invite comments.

That is probably a bit harsh. You don´t know if the painter was a paid "professional" or simply a friend who did it for him (probably for free). I have painted different things for different people several times, not being professional at all. I feel I should defend that paintjob therefore which is actually a good one. The primer under the paint seems to have made the miniatures look rough and that can still be handled by a good varnish that will smoothen the surfaces. I always offer the complete removal of flash and any mold lines, but you don´t know what the deal was here.
Davros, you received very nicely painted miniatures in my opinion. As said the surfaces can still be smoothened by varnishing if you´re bothered.

Really I thought I was being quite mild, I actually apologised twice for my comment.
Okay might have been done for free but the painter didn't do the OP any favours.
Good varnish won't work, the primer was dry before it hit the figure and has not adhered to the metal.  Doesn't matter what you do to it the paint will rub off.
Okay I don't know what the deal was, but removing mould lines is usually done as a precursor to painting.  The mould lines are a little thing I wouldn't have commented on had it not been for the primer issue.
Varnish wont work the primer isn't adhered to the figure, but he could try encapsulating them in two-part epoxy resin.
Sorry again Davros but it was a real schoolboy error by the painter professional or mate and could have been sorted out a lot quicker and easier before he started painting.  Failed not once but twice, but as long as you are happy.
And Michi your comments were mostly unfounded, unhelpful and ill advised.  The OP invited comments, I commented, you may not like what I said, but there's no denying the truth of it.  Or are we only allowed to tell people how nice and pretty their stuff is even if that's not what we think?

    Steve63:

Thank you for pointing a few things out on the work of the miniatures, I paid to have these done.  I have not done any painting in about 25 years, I am planning a few things from my lead pile.  I know when you post things on this board the members here will put their .02 cents on the table on the painting of other painters.

Davros , they are tabletop ready and if you're happy with them, that's good enough. I'd be happy to face them in battle

Agreed. I would not ever see this miniature as a professional painting job, at least for what I can see in that only picture.
