RS includes four sample 200-pt Squads built around a neat backstory. The one that intriguied me most was a pop-star-turned-smuggler whose career was ended by a prudish corporate censor. I love coming across ideas I would never have thought of myself and this is definitely one of those!

After mulling it over a bit, I remembered a KS for a comic I backed some time ago - Free Mars by multi-Golden-Demon-winner David Pauwels and illustrated by Nic Giacondino, who will probably be familiar to some 40k/HH fans. You can still get the comic from Gorgon Studios. I did not pledge for any at the time but 32mm-ish miniatures of the main characters were also available via the KS. Chris Borer, who sculpted them, still sells them in resin and white metal (along with a few other great sculpts).

Vikki Grimm, guitarist for the Sisters Grimm, would make a great Viven Roo-type Character for RS. Here is the Borer Miniatures gallery page for Vikki:

Do you guys know of any other sci fi pop/rock star type miniatures that might go with her?

Taryn Vexx and Samantha Darkness are Viki Grimm band members, but there is teh question is the musical instrument necessary?

I wouldn't expect Samantha to lug her drum kit around with her.  lol

Samantha kind of looks like a rocker but Taryn looks more like a Captain Harlock cosplayer than a bassist. While I like both miniatures a lot, they don't really scream guerrila musicians like Vikki's sculpt.

Here's another example I just found:

  • Pedantic bugger, apparently.
And also Mark Copplestone's later reworking of the ones em4 sells:

And for the spirit of Pete Townsend, replace this figure's giant spanner with an "axe":

If you want some alien rockers there's Impact! Miniatures' Band of Orcs:

Or, if you can afford it, the OOP GW Chaos Noise Marines and Ork Goff Rockers.

Sorry about the separate posts; my brain is rather bitty today!

Proving my previous statement, here are some more potential aliens in the "Bad Moon Over Memphis" sub-range to West Wind's "Vampire Wars", including a vampire rock band and werewolf Elvis impersonators:

Conversely, Lucid Eye's "Alien Rock Star" is rather humanoid*, being a Ziggy Stadust lookalike:

If your RS setting has a nostalgia circuit, there are other lookalikes out there: many Elvises** (Hasslefree, Brigade and RAFM at least), Buddy Holly (Brigade), the Beatles (Space Vixens from Mars); and OOP Madonna (GW "Mad Donna Ulanti"), Britney Spears (Chiltern Miniatures' vampire "Britney Fangs") and Freddie Mercury ("Persian Musician", a freebie given away with one of the Warhammer Ancient Battles supplements by North Star, I think).  Someone did a whole range based on hair rockers GWAR and their stage show.  There are probably many others I haven't noticed or remembered.

* But not Numanoid.  I don't know of a Gary Numan figure.
** As Mojo Nixon sang, "Elvis is Everywhere"

GWAR were Demonblade/Shockforce and pretty rare now. Add GW's kakophoni Noise Marines or less guitar sonic weapons.

Lots of great leads (whoops pun) - I especially like the Lucid Eye Ziggy. Thanks!

I'm late to the party as usual but I figure I'll contribute a bit.

Or, if you can afford it, the OOP GW Chaos Noise Marines and Ork Goff Rockers.

The Ork Goff Rockers seem to be available on GW's own webstore but there's no mention of the material.

Fenryll also produces this fine Orc chap although he's supposedly 45mm tall so if you want a really big rockstar...  ;D

I really have no idea what I'm doing.

When GW doesn't mention material, it's metal. At least, that is how it works for the LotR line.

That's good to know.
