Old west figure companies
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:29:51 PM »
Are there any more old west figures out there? I have pretty much most of the ranges from Foundry, Artizan, Conquest, Dixon, Over the wire, Redoubt and a couple of deadlands figures.

Black scorpion and the bigger ranges are pretty much out as i don't really want to add bigger scales to a collection that is already over a hundred figures! I do admit it I have a very bad problem! lol

I heard about bicorne miniatures? However their website doesn't contain any pics.

Any help guys? I know i've probably exhausted the well with that list of companies but i was just wanting to check

If you can get the Bicorne, they will mix reasonably well. Some are a bit larger, but not too bad.
Victory is guaranteed to the last man standing, but always remember those whom you stepped on to get there!!

Monday Knight Productions does a line called Desperados. Also Reviresco does a number of Mexicans & Chinese Tong figures. The MKP figs are a little shorter and squatter than Foundery & Dixon & the Reviresco are tall And thin. But they all mix well. Not every one is the same size & shape. Just look around when you get together with your gaming group.

If you run out of options there are a few sets by Old Glory too:

Not for the faint hearted if they are anything like their other ranges.

Mind you, OG-UK also carry the Blue Moon range, which is a hell of a lot nicer than the pictures on the site suggest. Well worth picking up a few of them.

Knuckleduster:

Eureka also has some suitable Tong figures (advertised as Chinese pirates) and used to have a set of female indians (if they're not on the site, you can always mail them about them)

Shadowforge has some female old west figures.

Blackrider;
I forgot about the Brigade Games Western figures. They are perfect size with Foundry figures...I have all of them.

This is a nice collection of all the old west miniature manufacturers and good source for anybody interested in this period, so I'll make this the first sticky for the Old West board. Thanks to all contributing here ...

There is also the ancient set of 'Western Gunfighters' from Grenadier.  Not exactly the same quality as today's minis but, you took what you could get in the old days.  Decent box art by Larry Elmore, though.

Hello All

Here is my list with the ones already mentioned removed for sanity's sake:

Some good easterners and Big City types are found at B'Hoys. There is also a selection of Police officers for the period.
http://fauxtoys.com/tvag/210-bhoysfigs.html

Some residents of Tombstone, Outlaws and Mexicans (along with some pistol packing women) are available from Black Scorpion.
http://www.blackscorpionminiatures.com/default.asp

Another nice selection of ends is available from Eureka (Including Dr. Hardlove's Steam Driven Suits for the SF at heart)
http://www.eurekamin.com.au/

Old Glory has some nice packs for the rank and file and are also the carrier of Crusader and Blue Moon (as Jolly Bob pointed out Blue Moon) that have some nice ones and some cool wagons and carts. This is listed again because the other ranges are somewhat hidden on the website.

I am a huge fan of Knuckleduster and Artizan but they were already covered above.

Hope that helps
Mac

May I add some:
HLBS (due to stop them in some short period) mounties and some gold rushers
and Pulp Figures mounties, too!
Not quite Old West (mostly North) but there could be some use.

And also exWestwind miniatures now Old Glory cowboy wars.
Maybe some conquest miniatures might also fill some gaps on Indians.
Crusader miniatures has a set or two.
