Nice stuff Rokurota.  Like it.

Code: [Select]
For black horses you can try with grey tones.
After the gray tones, I like to use Secret Weapons Soft Body Black to wash the gray tones and help blend the transitions, if you don't have that create a wash of black paint, something like 5-7 parts water to one part black to blend things.

Thanks Madhouse, I'll try it. And thanks again Rokurota, I didn't mean to hijack, just a quick question for you. I'll follow your suggestion and maybe try some burnt black with flesh pink and light sand for outlines for the lighter colour horses. We'll see how it works out.
You go to war with the figures you have, not the figures you wish you had!

It's really a shame that I missed this tread so far. Great paintwork, I really like colour transitions!

Excellent, excellent!  :-*

Do you spend so much time and detail on the whole Army or just command elements and figures that stick out? I'm finding that it takes me awhile to blend, tri-colour, paint embroidery, etc. and it just doesn't seem that at this rate the army will every be done. I'm already seem to be slowing down on the Dumnonian rank-and-file spearmen and skirmishers. How do you do it?

I have to admit that spend so much time painting my figures, it depends very much on the quantity of details that they have.
