That's definitely a great find as subject matter.  We already know it will be spot on.

No pressure gents! :o

So I've started with mucho gusto!

Being smaller than the picture by a couple of stories makes it look a little squat compared to the drawing! :?

I've used foamed pvc for the main body and a couple of bottle caps and a waterpistol for the underneath.

Thanks guys!

It's going to be about 400mm high by 400mm long, I reckon, by the time all the gibbons is on underneath and the ramp is added to the front.

Majestic! :)

Edit: It might not be possible (and has probably already been mentioned), but it would be cool if the stair/ramp was stiff/strong enough to function as the flight stand?

The weight of the thing is quite heavy, the ramp would need to be made of a solid metal rod. Also I'd need to design a building to attach it to. My current sci fi buildings are too weak mate!

I've ordered clear Perspex rod and sheet from eBay to make a proper flight stand.

That 'start' looks better than some of my finished stuff!  :D
For my build I'm using a similar foam core with plasticard over it, and it looks horrendous compared to yours!
Weight: I'm using mine as a scenery piece, so I'm having it sit on a hopefully robust undercarriage; but it doesn't seem to be too heavy, even though I think my build is similar in size. How much does it weigh then?
