Ok, it's done!
Here is my last figure:

And with it it makes 15 minis, sorted in 3 packs  :) :

All together:

I know I wanted to sculpt only 10 Crows at the beginning, but then I couldn't stop  ;) The more I investigated about the Crows the more I came to like them and the more things I wanted to sculpt :D

I'm really happy I managed to finish this. It's the longest time I've been focused on a single project AND these are my first ever historical minis ;)

I've already contacted some casters. I'll let you know as soon as I know more :)

Thanks! Yes, I know, I'm already working on the first horse. I'll make a pair of resin castings of the Crows so I can work on them for the mounted versions.

What do you think, should I try to produce these now or should I wait until I have the mounted versions aswell and launch them together? Most likely is gonna be a Kickstarter I guess...

Great warband. :-* :-* :-*

You could start producing the foot figures and then go to the mounted versions.
Just my opinion. :)
I know i will end up buying all so... ;D

Personally I’d wait and sell them with the mounted versions in one go. You may find it works out cheaper to  cast them all together, depending upon how many horses you make and the number of moulds required (masters and production if you are going to go down that route)

Hmm, I didn't think about that more figures could be cheaper but it's certainly a factor to keep in mind!

What do you think it's better then btw, more horse models or less? If there are much less than riders then they would have to be cast more often, right? Calculating all possibilities is becoming more and more confusing   o_o

I would suggest three different horses. Your options are to sculpt three different ones or have a master cast and then convert a number of the castings into different poses. For 15 figures I’d certainly have three (or more) poses.
What you should think about is whether you want to make just one or two master moulds and cast figures from the master until it’s worn out or from the master moulds make production moulds that you can cast up figures in multiple quantities.
More initial outlay to have production moulds made but cheaper long term if repeatedly casting them.

Thanks a lot for you help, Malamute!  :)
Three horses seems ok and feasible. I had also thought that it would be a good idea to make a master casting so all horses are the same broad (and can therefore carry all riders I can sculpt  ;)) so I'll be doing that :)

I have yet to think a lot about the moulds  o_o If I'm to make the mounted version first it buys me a bit of extra time for thinking  :D

While I'm waiting at the first figure to get casted in metal, I made some new tipis following Duhamel's excellent method:

I made them on cardboard, hence the color:

Then I painted them with some Blackfoot's designs:

Pretty happy about how they turned out. What do you think?

P.S: I left the bases unpainted until I decide how to make my plains board...
