Hi SL,

These guys look great an I'm sure the LAFers will look forward to your gaming reports.

There won't be any negative comments on your painting style either. That is because you give it a go! If you think they look okay, then that's what really matters.

Thankyou for the photos,

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

I've noticed you do a kind of starwars figure/action force toy figure thing with the way you do your eyes,(dark eyebrows and dots for pupils) not my cup of tea but each to his own, again as long as you're getting stuff done fair play.

Your washes are a little hit and miss and seem to be pooling in some places and not staying put in others, maybe try a dot of washing up liquid in the paint to help them to flow better.

Finally, are you undercoating, sounds rude sorry but it looks like paint directly onto metal, (and little thick) but again the lack of depth may be the lack of shading/highlighting.

The good thing about your approach is that when you feel more confident you can go back to your blocked base coat work and start to add more depth and highlights.

Thanks for sharing, comments offered in good faith.

I think the way you've done the faces gives them a certain cartoonish quality that is quite appealing. They look sort of like drawings from a Tintin book, or something like that.

The girl looks like she could be Tintin's sister. Yes, his sister, that's it. The alternative is too much to contemplate. Not going there, not after the last LAF discussion we had about Tintin's ... leanings.  :)

I now paint very quickly, on the need to get it finished ticket.  Looking at them in the cold light of day, they aren't brill, but they're off my lead mountain.  Yours look fine, although I would use a different flesh tone.
