Wow, what a fantastic thread! It brings back so many fond memories of my teenage years, only with much better painting! The Southron and the Easterling might be my faves, the Southron for reasons of nostalgia (a good friend of mine painted it in blue and silver as his MERP character back in the day, and did a beautiful job on it), and the Easterling because it's one of the only models from this range that I didn't recognize, and it was nice not just to be introduced to it, but to be introduced to such a finely painted example of it! These are really wonderful. I had forgotten how much I love the Rohirrim guy too, great big nose and all! What a range this was!

Beautiful, inspiring work!  All are outstanding - hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, I would go with the Haradrim.

I love the mounted Saruman figure.  Doesn't look much like I would expect a mounted Saruman to look, but it is a great figure nonetheless.  I don't think I have ever really noticed him before.  I never had many of these figures - nice to see so many of them receiving this much love and attention.  Keep them coming (hopefully the person who commissioned the work has deep pockets).

An inspiring thread!  I still have a number of these figures - the crouching troll is still in my (modern) LotR forces!

A few more done now.

First up is Gimli, foot and mounted on pony. I'm not sure if this fits in with the narrative of the story, with his armour and shield, plus pony, but it's a nice couple of models nonetheless and fitted with Citadel's tradition of pairing up leading characters as foot and mounted versions.

Now some Hobbit characters - Gandalf, Bilbo, Thorin (yes, he did have a white beard in the book) and Gollum.

You have quite a collection of WONDERFUL old miniatures, each with his own unique personality, AND each BEAUTIFULLY painted & based.
Most of the little Folk I have never seen before. That only adds to the enjoyment of admiring your artistry. VERY WELL DONE!

Fabulous, the mounted dwarf has long been a favourite miniature of mine - you've really done it proud.

Wonderful brushwork.
You have really brought out the character in all of these figures.

I had not seen that one painted up before but now it has to be a favourite of mine too.

Blimey, I think I have that dismounted Saruman (from some purchase of a bunch of old minis)

Had not seen it as a LotR mini, but there we have it...  lol
