Lovely work, as usual.
The transition of tones on the faces alone is amazing.
 :-* :-*

However, that doesn't mean I won't add the odd Orc or Goblin from my own collection, from time to time.

So, if you have them in your collection, you will paint them, eh?
If that is the case then I have a couple that I can add to your collection.
 :)

I'm kind of aiming for something like that using the poor man's approach of washes etc, but this is the real deal.

I concentrate on the eyes, noses and the area around the cheeks, nose and brow. I always do the eyes as soon as the base colour for the face goes on, so I can get them very thin and cover up any bits that go wrong easily. The rest is just building the bumps in the right places with highlighting. I have spent a lot of time pulling odd faces in the mirror to look how the shape of the face changes with certain expressions (and also because it's fun to pull odd faces in the mirror).

This is one of my favorite threads here and I love to see new additions.  :-* The Rohirrim is great! With regard to vision, I claim to have perfect vision but that never stopped me from using an Optivisor at times. I can't recommend it enough. I paint a lot without it but where I use it all the time is actually with prep such as cleaning mold lines and making sure faces and such are just right before priming. I'm fastidious about a flawless prep.

My late somewhat demented father sometimes claimed I had a twin who was somehow lost just after birth... Could it be you?  ;)

Love your work, man!

 lol

No, I did the same when I was still drawing with pencil. Should try it out for figurines too! :)

These old models have so much character, and the painting really brings out their potential. Awesome work! I love the Tom Bombadil model in particular.

Great minis. Much nicer and more characterful than the the current ones!

But sadly I won’t be able to afford such nice vintage minis ...
