Looking for Cold War & "Current" canadian army infantry figures
« on: January 19, 2017, 10:04:58 PM »
Hello,

This is part of a much bigger question, and thought process but I'll come back to it later… :-X

I would like to know where I can find suitable figures for the Canadian army during the Cold War (preferably BEFORE the adoption of the Kevlar helmet) and also "current" Canadian army figures.

I would need infantry (foot) figures in a scale between 28mm and 12cm... :?

Cheers!

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I've used TAG Up Country Vietnam US Army for Canadians with the newer assault rifles, and their Australians in boonie hats as earlier Canadians with FN's, with or without a head/helmet swap. I've also used Gripping Beast Argentinians from the Falklands Range as FN armed Canadians in Fall/Winter jackets. Some of their British work well too. You can also do head swaps for wool caps if that suites your style and scenario.

Wot they sed, 'cept, I don't really think that VN era Australians really capture the Canuck look.

Be aware that some of the GB Argentines have folding stock FN's although as they are essentially proxies, I don't suppose that's a huge issue.

Other options might be Mike Bravo's new range of African mercs.

Viper4Dan is too modest.  Look at his thread for some Cold War Canucks:

And there's more info on Full Battle Rattle here:  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=92042.msg1137120#msg1137120

One of the fellows playing Viper4Dan's game served in the 80s and thought Dan got the look right.

And Full Battle Rattle was a soldier in the Primary Reserves too.

Definitely Full Battle Rattle for the modern Canadians. Great sculpts that can work for most of the last fifteen years or so. Fit in with Empress perfectly.

Look at the mud on those bloody boots. Disgrace is what that is. Is he carrying a purse or a C2? And that stache clearly extends past the corners of the lip in contravention of QR&O - where is his sgt? Words will be spoken to clean up this slovenly mess. Jesus what a mess.
