 Hi Folks,

I have a stretch goal coming up for my Kickstarter and it features a Victorian Orphan Girl girl and her Bull Terrier sidekick. I have them named Penny Poor and Queenie..

Does anyone have a cool orphan name, If I use it I will send you the pair on the house!

I like the name Annabelle, I would have named a child, that but ended up with three lads instead.

Something inspiringly religious. Patience perhaps with a reference to geography if you see her as being abandoned. Greyfriars would cover where and who found her.The dog has to be Lady.

Anna Belle might be more appropriate.

I'm starting to like Adelia Adverse. If the Terrier is male, maybe Merrit?

Doug

Edit: If you stay with Penny, perhaps 'Pretty Penny Poor'?

Are we supposed to name the bull terrier, too?

In that case, Olivia Twist is accompanied by the Artful Dog; and Perdita the Foundling by Florizel.

What about Molly Moses and the Gibface? Moses isn't actually her surname but she was found abandoned in a moses basket so the name stuck, particularly as Biblical names were popular. The Gibface is a particularly ugly bull terrier called so after his heavy, angry looking face. Gibface is Victorian slang for a heavy, ugly lower lip.
