I have given my self leave from this year's LPL. Feeling quite unburdened by it, really. :)

A pity, Peder, but I understand exactly how you feel :)
It is a pleasure and a pain  ;)

I had a pretty fun lineup, I feel, but, you know, getting everything finished and just so required more time than I think I can manage.

I just emailed my Round 1 to 3 teams.  This is my first time participating, really looking forward to it.  Thank you Captain Blood for organizing this.

I know what you mean about taking off. Last year was a nice break.

I was on the fence about this year too, honestly. I know I won't have the time to do some of the lineups I have been planning to the level I want, but I do have several other minor collections of things that have been sitting in stasis too long. My goal this year is to honor the intent of the league and get to some things that have languished unpainted.

Wow, didn't see so many more entries coming, this is great!
I mean, I was still going to end up somewhere near the bottom however many entries there were, but good to see the number has shot up. Definitely got me finishing off figures for various projects which have been standing idle for ages  :)

Good to see the number of entrants increasing.   :)

I'm not posting much about the LPL...because I'm busy painting stuff.  Aiming for a random mix of figures/genres.  At least one entry - if I get it finished - will be something I don't usually paint.

Seeing the lineup so far, should be fun.

Heh, I'm faithfully following my traditional workflow, that is, promising myself in June that next year I'll start preparing well in advance, but in reality only finding the time when inspired by looming deadlines. lol This year it was maybe even worse than before, thanks to three weeks abroad and extra weeks dedicated to travel preparation and backlog-clearing. Nothing done whatsoever until early March. As a bonus, I'm still trying to find all the hobby stuff I packed away in last autumn's house move. Two weeks ago I was still trying to find basing sand, of all things. Each paint bottle is a lottery ticket. On Thursday, while frantically finalising the entries, I managed to lose the 4 x 6 terrain mat I'm using for photos. Don't ask how. :-I

The photos were finally ready well after midnight. Fortunately I didn't have to be very productive myself in the early Friday morning work meeting.

In hindsight, I could have finished the entries on Friday too, thanks to the deadline extension, but whatever. Now I just dedicated that evening to drinking beer with my feet on the painting table. :D

(But seriously. Next year I'll start preparing well in advance.)

So, good luck, all participants. And have fun, you slackers who only watch while drinking beer with your feet on the painting table. ;)

Exactly :)

The random draw of round one pairings has been made by Admiral Benbow, who is kindly running the leaderboard this season (because I am crap at spreadsheets)..
The pairings in future rounds will be automatically determined by standing of participants based on the results of preceding rounds, using the Swiss Pairing System.

Matches will be up tomorrow morning  8)

Good to see so many contestants, good Luck to all. Although looking at the contestant list I do feel a bit underqualified, there's a Lt, a captain and an admiral, even a couple of doctors and a prof, and I think they all outrank me  lol. But I'll give it my best shot and will try to represent the little guy   :D

Good luck to all of you who dare to compete!!!

Idea for next year's LPL - I'm thinking ahead  ::)

Instead of random draw for first round, just pair them up as they arrive.  Would still be random, but less work for the organisers.

And as per tradition, some of the choices to be made are well nigh impossible!
