Balloon Reconnaissance Attack Squardon

Now that they are no longer part of the LPL I can post these here.

Still struggling with my photography. It was very hard trying to get five of these things in one photo for LPL 2.
I would have rather have posted them separately

I am struggling to get the photos crisp so you can see the detail
When I do the group shots I end up missing important bit like faces etc. Another group photo.

Tried different lights but still not working.

Any suggestions on taking pictures of these would help.

Still not finished the mother ship/Aeronef for these, LPL has been taking up my hobby time. I will get there one day.

Bloody hell GM, these are inspired! Tell me there's a 'how I made them' thread on this forum somewhere!
Don't!

Wonderful stuff Gamer Mac. ;D
Those Euerka figures have endless possibilities, great concept, beautifully executed.

And now we add in the KMN Mjollnir, His Majesty's gunship of the Navy of Free Norway, Mars. Currently being flown by a temporary crew of Philomena Cartwright, and her crew of mercenaries, being overseen by the 'Fez'.

I might replace these photos later with the actual crew in place, but for now this will do.

Great stuff Sinewgrab. :-* :-* :-*
She has really come together well and the paint job is just the icing on the cake. :-*
Really grand job.
Still looking forward to seeing the right crew, LPL entry?

There is one thing I don’t like. :'(
The hairy string around the rail!
It may just be the photograph picking up the tinny detail that normal eye sight would miss.
Can you not get a hold of some cord to use instead of string?
The other option would be to try smoothing it out with a coating of PVA glue.

If you can’t get some cord PM me and I will send you some. Although I have never posted anything to the US before I don’t imagine some cord in an envelope will cause a problem.
An example of the cord I am talking about is on the sides of the balloons in my post above.

Stonking stuff. Love it.

Another option for the rails is picture wire. It is wound similar to string and paints up nicely as rope as well as being rigid enough to "pose".

I'll second that. Svennn used picture wire on the 'nef he built for me and it works well. It's in the process of being painted up so pics soon.

Yes, the real crew is an upcoming entry, probably 6th round. The rope was an irritant to me - the cord I used shows no signs of little bit sticking out or anything until you paint it - they loosened up due to the water-based paints. 99% of picture wire and other cords is too thick to go through the beads I used for the stanchions. I decided to quite worrying about it.
